Dressed in an exquisite white salwar kameez, when asked about the mall and her preference towards jewellery, she replied, “a concept such as this is very credible and will surely change the whole experience of shopping jewellery. The people who come to shop here are bound to feel secure and at ease when shopping. The brands like Cygnus and Pranda are changing the face of jewellery, here in India and globally. I rarely wear jewellery when not shooting, but Jewel World has got an amazing collection that I would surely want to have! I wish Jewel World all the luck and success and am looking forward to the opening of more outlets!”This makes it a true jewellery mall offering a wide choice of designs and styles. It is also chosen for the first bullion branch of State Bank of India in Mumbai. From the time of its inauguration by Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel in August 1938, Cotton Exchange had been the centre of business in Mumbai. There was a brief lull following the cessation of future trade in cotton by the Government and closure of the trading ring. It has been given a new lease of life as M/s Bherumal Shamandas Group and Vardhaman Developers Pvt Ltd have come together to convert it into Mumbai’s first jewellery mall. Today, more than seventy years since the Cotton Exchange opened its doors and played a major part in the economic dominance of Mumbai, Jewel World aims to change the way people would purchase their jewellery.Ramesh Pahlajani says, “Jewellery buying has always had its traditions and what we aim to do here is retain those traditions while hosting the buyers in their comfort zone, providing a great ambience and top notch security. Zaveri Bazaar contributes to 65 per cent of India’s total Jewellery and bullion trade and Jewel World is bang in the centre of this area. We wish all the buyers and traders a great experience here at Mumbai’s premier jewellery shopping destination, Jewel World. We will be branching out to other locations in the near future and setting up a base here in Zaveri Bazaar is the ideal crown jewel!”

Utmost care has been taken to retain the Art-Deco style of the Cotton Exchange building by the designers of the mall ‘Arris Architechs’. The façade has been carefully cleaned and restored to its beauty. Once you step into the cool interiors, you are in for a delightful surprise. The swanky mall is more than what meets the eyes, as it ushers its patrons past the huge doors and the double level foyer, adorned with an exquisite chandelier. Modern amenities and premium finishes with extensive use of Italian marble create a setting as exclusive as the precious possessions sold within.
