Guess what Tanishaa is doing these days? The Neal n Nikki actress is busy preparing for a Bengali film Mukti where she will share screen space with her mother, the well-known actress Tanuja for the first time. The film is to be directed by award-winning Bengali director Gautam Haldar. She reveals. “I’m very excited about the film as for the first time I’ll be working with my mother who’s an amazing actress,” she says, adding that she will be most comfortable working with her.
Will the audience also get to see the whole family — her sister Kajol, brother-in-law Ajay Devgan, her mother and her working together in a film in a casting coup of sorts? “Well, that’s a definite possibility in the near future,” says the actress who was last seen in the film Sarkar Raj. Considering that her sister Kajol is a successful actress and that Tanishaa is still struggling to make a mark in the industry, is there any sibling rivalry between the two? “Not at all,” says Tanishaa defiantly, “Kajol is much elder to me and in fact there was never any kind of competition between us. But yes, when I was young I was an irritating child and wanted whatever clothes she had. There was never any sibling rivalry between us,” she reveals.
Whom does she consider her guiding force — her mother or her sister? “I’m close to my whole family and they all guide me in my career decisions. They are all professionals and they have been in the industry for a very long time now. But the final decision is always mine,” she explains.
Many of her films have not done well at the box-office. What could be the reason? “Well, I don’t consider them as wrong decisions. It’s just that the public didn’t like them. And as an actor, I can’t control what the public likes or dislikes,” she says.
The actress was reported to have behaved childishly on the sets of the film One Two Three. What’s her take on it? “Let them come to my face and tell me that. They can’t simply accuse me of such things,” she says firmly.
Is she still single considering that there were talks about her breaking up with Uday Chopra some time back? “I’m single as I’m still not married. Beyond that I don’t want to speak about my personal life,” signs off Tanishaa.
