Lara Dutta’s is working hard on her look for Don 2 which goes on air this year. Sources tell us that she will be ultra glam and will absolutely make her mark alongside her contemporary Priyanka Chopra.

Earlier in Andaz, both Lara and Priyanka at par with each other because they had just started their career. However, now PC is a way too ahead of Lara. Now, the ex-Miss Universe has taken up Don 2 as a challenge. She wants her look to be something spectacular because she has to try and steal PC’s thunder.

Well, only time can tell us who will steal the thunder.

Lara Dutta, who has been creating waves with her svelte figure and bold avatar in the promos of “Blue”, hopes the film turns out to be a hit and makes her Diwali really special.

“Blue”, also starring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan is centered on an underwater treasure guarded by sharks and is slated to release Oct 16, just a day before Diwali.

“My next film after ‘Do Knot Disturb’, ‘Blue’ is releasing just a day before Diwali, so I’m hoping that it does well and my Diwali becomes a bumper Diwali,” Lara, who was wearing a pink satin dress, told reporters here.

The former beauty queen-turned-actress was in the capital to attend the 25th edition of MMTC’s Festival of Gold.

Even though Kareena Kapoor is a super star and Lara Dutta is certainly looking good to be one, especially in her current innings when she has numerous exciting projects up her sleeves, it didn’t require any persuading whatsoever to support Jackky Bhagnani for his debut venture KAL KISSNE DEKHA.

Ready to lend a helping hand and ensuring that Jackky gains enough mileage due to their presence, both women consented immediately when Vashu Bhagnani approached them to perform in the country wide tour that the team of KAL KISSNE DEKHA has embarked upon.

‘For both Kareena and Lara, Jackky is like a ‘ghar ka bachcha”, says Vashu who is continuing to market and promote his film aggressively in spite of yet another move in the film’s release date, ‘Kareena has worked with me in one of her biggest hits ever, MUJHE KUCH KEHNA HAI as well as JEENA SIRF MERRE LIYE.

With her sister Karisma too I have made COOLIE NO. 1, HERO NO. 1 and BIWI NO. 1. Somewhere down the line we have continued to share great relationship with each other, both personally as well as professionally. This is the reason why when I approached her to help in promoting Jackky and his film, she was game for it.’

How about Lara Dutta? Was she cool as well in the very first go? ‘Absolutely yes’, says Vashu in a proud tone, ‘Even though Lara has worked with me in only one film [soon to be released DO KNOT DISTURB], we have known each other for 8-9 years. There was no hanky panky whatsoever.

She just asked me when and where she is required to be present. That’s the best part of this industry. There is such emotional bonding between people in spite of all the talks about professional rivalries and back biting. In the last few weeks, the way Kareena and Lara have lend me support, I have further gone on to realize that we folks are indeed one big family and the ties that are seen in Bollywood can’t be evidenced elsewhere.’

Adds Jackky, ‘I have known Lara and Kareena for so long but them supporting me for the promotion of my debut film has been an extraordinary affair. Frankly, I wasn’t too sure how it all would turn out but dad always has belief in the people he works with. He was confident that no one would turn him away.

Thankfully, this is what happened and both the ladies were sporty enough to accompany me for the tours. I can never ever forget what they have done for me.’  Meanwhile there continues to be uncertainty around the release of the movie after it was announced at the last minute that Vivek Sharma directed KAL KISSNE DEKHA won’t eventually make it for the 29th May release. With the current stand off between producers and multiplexes failing to see any resolution, it is indeed a ‘kal kissne dekha’ moment for all involved with the movie.

Is actress Lara Dutta insecure over Bollywood movie Blue is what industry insiders are wondering. She may be be playing the main female lead in the film but she seems to be feeling threatened and losing sleep over Katrina Kaif’s special appearance in the film claim a few industry sources.

Sources are claiming that she wants to see the rushes of Blue and is requesting the makers for the same. Sources reveal, "Katrina was a last minute addition to the film reportedly on recommendation of good friend Akshay Kumar who is amongst the three male leads of the film along with Sanjay Dutt and zayed khan. Apart from a lavish song a few scenes too were shot on her. But as reports have began pouring out that her role has increased since she enjoys a bigger star status, Lara is feeling mighty insecure.”

“As it is the film is a full on male bonding film and Lara though playing a significant character is relegated to the back seat as compared to her male counterparts. As it is the entire first round of publicity for the film was hogged by Internationally famous pop singer Kylie Minogue. Lara’s bikini clad pictures splashed all over the media too haven’t done the trick for her either.”

“Her last release Billu too saw the trio of Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone hogging all the publicity when in fact she had a bigger n better role in the film. She doesn’t want the same to happen here over Katrina and Kylie. So in a way her feeling insecure is justified," sources add.

With the competition getting tougher day by day, the temperature soars on Sunsilk presents Knights and Angels this week as the Blue gang of girls set the stage ablaze. After dazzling performances by the Red Gang of girls last week, its time for the Blue Gang of girls to charm the judges with some sizzling performances.

The blue gangs of girls are all set to woo the judges with their Latkas and Jhatkas. For the first time on Knights and Angel’s one of the angels hit bull’s eye by scoring a perfect 10. The Chief Justice Sourav Ganguly who tried his best not to be generous in giving scores, had to surrender as the Blue Angels put up some brilliant performances.

Supporting dada and SRK in their hunt for cheerleaders this week is none other than the gorgeous and charming bollywood damsel Lara Dutta who not only cheered the girls with full enthusiasm but also recollected her days when she participated in the Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Further she was so impressed with the girls, the bollywood babe was so taken aback with the brilliant performances that she also joined them on stage to shake her leg to the tunes of Jhoom Baraber Jhoom and gave these young girls some tips on cheerleading.

Shutranjay Gaikwad, the young and  promising Knight Rider will also be the judge for this week. Ex-Miss Universe is quite happy and thrilled. The reason, of course, is her upcoming film ‘Blue’. Well it all started like this. Initially when Lara Dutta was offered a role in ‘Blue’ she was quite apprehensive about signing the dotted line. It was for obvious reasons that Lara held back – she did not know to swim.

So how come she is a part of the film now, you my ask. Thanks to her co-star Akshay Kumar. This guy who yearns for doing something out of the ordinary persuaded Lara just by a phone call.

Lara says “I got a call from Akshay who told me – “take a swimming lesson. If you do not like it then say no to the movie. But take one swimming lesson and see how it goes”. Lara enthusiastically adds “He has this favourite dialogue “Tu nahi toh kaun karega” and he knows that gets me every single time”. And that’s it, the actress went ahead charged up and she did not regret her decision.

Ms. Dutta went for a three-month underwater training and got a diver’s certificate. Later on she had a blast of her lifetime shooting in the sea and swimming with the sharks.

Truly amazing Lara! Lara says “I must say that as an actress, very few times you get anything that really challenges you in a role including something that is physically challenging and I am extremely lucky on that part”.

Going by the released snapshots of ‘Blue’, it looks like the adventure buffs are in for a treat because it is the best adventurous flick ever made in Bollywood. The film directed by Anthony D’Souza tells the story of three friends who go on a journey to find a sunken ship laden with treasures.

While Sanjay Dutt and Akshay play the roles of fishermen in the Bahamas, Zayed Khan will be seen as a showy guy. Lara plays Sanjay’s wife and film also has Katrina Kaif who will be seen in role that has a negative tinge to it.

Ever since Lara rendered her voice to an elephant for an animated film, she falls in love with the animals. Expressing her love for animals, Lara says, “I love animals, especially dogs, as I can have them as pets too. But, when I saw this film, I totally fell in love with elephants and was already thinking how I wish I could own one too!”

So don’t get wondered if the lady joins PETA or something like that and who knows she must have already joined the organization.

The actress is known for her seven year itch with boyfriend Kelly Dorjee. But her split made news. “Yes, we were together for a very long time,” admits Lara, “And were each other’s strength for most of the ‘growing up’ years of our life. We’ve seen a lot together, but things happen, and we have to move on. There are some people who will always be special.”

So, is the time to love again already here? “I’ll take each day as it comes. I’m not looking at getting into another relationship just yet. I think for me right now, life is at a stage where I’m getting good work. I realise that I’ve got a limited number of years and I really want to give it everything I’ve got. I haven’t been single in a really long time. I’m re-learning being single all over again, and loving it.” But doesn’t she feel sad to return to an empty home after pack-up? “Who said my home is empty? I have two dogs, maids, nieces, sisters…”

And what about her link-ups with Bobby Deol, Salman Khan… “They’re just rumours, Lara says laughing. Not many know that most of my co-actors treat me like a boy. And when they hear or read about me being involved with them, all they say is, ‘Yea right, like this is ever going to happen!”
