After sashaying down the ramp in beach wear for designer duo Hemant-Nandita at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW), Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba yearns for a beach vacation.
“I’m dying to go on a vacation – some place where I can dive into the blue ocean water and sunbathe. I have had a lot of commitments lately so it was hard to take out time for a holiday,” Minissha told IANS.
The actress, who was the showstopper for designer duo Hemant-Nandita, says she went into the holiday mood as soon as she slipped into the designers’ chic resort wear collection, inspired by “a vacation in Ibiza”.
“After wearing this dress, I really think I want to go to Ibiza without all the stress of work,” said Minissha, who walked the ramp confidently in a colourful, flowy dress with prominent work on the neckline.
“I really like what Hemant and Nandita have done because no one in India used to treat beach wear and resort wear as a legitimate couture line. And their line offers everything – from swimsuits to flattering gowns with work for a classy dinner at a resort,” she added.
After her glamorous avatar in “Kidnap”, Minissha is now waiting for the release of Shyam Benegal’s comedy “Well Done Abba”, in which she stars alongside Boman Irani and Sammir Dattani.
“It is a political satire based in a village – it’s a very different movie. It has its message to it but it isn’t preachy or moralistic,” said the actress who made her debut with off beat film “Yahaan”.
Minissha Lamba has been opening up about how important sensuality is to her and how to achieve it if you’re a woman – the answer it seems is chocolate. “Romantic, sensual and seductive,” she explains, “If anyone is willing to share his chocolates voluntarily with someone else, it means he really cares for that person. That is the bottom line. When someone gives up their chocolates for you, you know that they care.”
If that’s not enough, she recommends a massage: “Massage allows you and your lover to connect in a very deep way on both the physical and emotional level,” she says, “The process of learning to share sensual touch can teach you both a lot about trust, communication and pleasure, three of the major building blocks that make up any solid, lasting romantic partnership.”
And if you’re still at a loss as to what to do, Minissha’s third choice would be to go see the right kind of movie. “Soon, we’ve got Hrithik Roshan’s Kites coming out. I think it’s going to be the most romantic and sensual film we Indians would have seen in a very long time. Minissha’s next movie is Abba Ka Kuan, also called Well Done Abba, with Boman Irani and Divya Dutta, a tongue in cheek contemporary comedy.

The growing buzz in Mumbai is that Hot babe Minissha lamba and cricketer Yuvraj singh are the hottest couple in the country.
An eyewitness blogs that the two were actually locking lips at Aurus, a restaurant and lounge bar in juhu. A source close to the actress says she wasn’t even in town when the said incident took place.
However, highly placed sources at Aurus confirm that the two often come to the place and stay all night over dinner and a bit of PDA. “They have come here quite often for dinner and stayed till early morning. They lok like any other couple in love, holding hands, gazing into each other’s eyes. Our staff and guests were quite stunned to see them at ease in public, but they didn’t seem to care,” said a source.
There is a lot more to Minissha Lamba than the hot bikini body that she flaunts in the upcoming crime thriller Kidnap. She is not just having a blast doing diverse roles, she is determined to climb right to the top in Bollywood. “Otherwise what is the point,” she asks!
In a short career spanning a little over three years, Minissha who lives in Mumbai with her parents and younger brother, has already acted in 11 films, having debuted with Shoojit Sircar’s ..Yahaan in 2005.
Not only has she done diverse roles, she has worked under coveted banners, including Yash Raj Films (Bachna Ae Haseeno). Ironically, Minissha, a successful model before she became an actress, never coveted a Bollywood career till Shoojit Sircar offered her a role in ..Yahaan.
In a tête-à-tête on Friday, September 26, we asked Minissha, 23, what she attributed her rapid rise in Bollywood to?
“Well it is a lot of hard work when you come here. It is not easy and just sitting back. It is not like that,” she replied.

“But everything that happened to get me here…are things not in my control,” she said, acknowledging the role of fate.
Other than good luck, she attributes her success to Shoojit Sircar and, not surprisingly, …Yahaan (2005) still remains the film closest to her heart.
Minissha is not just sensuous, she is perfectly at ease with her sensuality. When we asked her if she had any qualms about Kidnap being hyped on account of her bikini shots in it, Minissha’s response was unabashed.
“No, not at all! Not at all! If people can wear bikini on the beach in real life why do we hesitate wearing it on the screen?”
Like men with six packs, women with the right curves, often flaunt them because it takes a lot of sweat and toil to acquire them.
difficult was it for her to get her curves right, we asked Minissha?
“It was very difficult. It was not easy being thin enough to get into a bikini. The process is a slog.” she admitted.
So does she intend to stick with the exercise and dieting regimen that she adopted? Is she going to be enjoying Mom’s parathas anytime soon again?
“Well now there is healthy balance of having mom’s parathas and exercising as well because you conditioned your body to be a certain way now, its easier now. But initially when you hadn’t reached that comfort zone that your body is in now, it was very difficult.
Surprising, Minissha does not have too many projects lined up, but we had little success in getting her to talk about her future plans.
Looking ahead you don’t seem to have too many films? What is going on?
What is going on is I was waiting for Bachna Ae Haseeno and Kidnap to release.
So does that means there are projects in the pipeline?
Yes, and announcements will be made when the time is ripe.
re you in the race to get to the top, or would you rather take things as they come and enjoy the experience?
Of course you want to enjoy the experience…while it happens…while the process is on. But you also want to be a success and make sure you are climbing the ladder otherwise what is the point?
