The daughter of Bollywood’s popular funny man Govinda, Narmada too will start her acting journey with a romantic comedy.

"The film is a young, fresh romantic comedy. Even the production house is not new, but they are coming out with a film after a gap of a few years. That’s what made me keen on doing this film. I already have another film lined up after this.

"I can’t talk about the project because they will announce the film according to their own convenience. They’ll do that probably at the end of this year," said the youngster who learnt the ropes of acting at the London Film Institute.

When asked about her co-actor in the film, Narmada said: "All I can say is that my co-star in the film is not a newcomer. I can’t reveal any other detail."

She says her father’s suggestions helped her in making up her mind about her career.

Bollywood star Govinda’s daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja seems to have set her preferences even before her first movie. The 21-year-old says she would like to make her debut with an actor who has at least one film to his credit rather than a newcomer.

“There’s no particular actor that I would like to make my debut with. But I won’t like to debut with someone very new. I’ll prefer my co-star to have done at least one film…He could be a fresh face, but not really a debutant or newcomer,” Narmmadaa told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

“A lot depends on the demand of the script…so until and unless that is ready, there’s no point thinking about the co-actor,” added the youngster who created a buzz when she made her first public appearance with Bollyood star and her dad’s friend Salman Khan at the IIFA awards in 2007.

Though Narmmadaa has no personal favourites among the young male actors, she says her father keeps praising a whole lot of them.

“I have no preferences for any actor. But my dad sees all the new movies with new boys and says – ‘Wah! Kamaal ka actor hai! (Wow! He is a fantastic actor)’. So he has his own favourites,” she said.

Asked about her own debut film, she said: “We have just started scripting so it’s a little too early to talk about it.”

Although she’s yet to announce her first film, Govinda’s vivacious daughter Narmmadaa Ahuja is proving to be a trendsetter with her canny understanding of the industry. For one, she’s already hired herself a professional image manager to announce her arrival, something that’s never been done before by debutantes. PR guru Dale Bhagwagar, who has managed the public images of stars like Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Shilpa Shetty (who he turned into an international sensation during her stint in UK’s Celebrity Big Brother), is now handling Narmmadaa’s imaging.

Says Narmmadaa, "I found Dale over the internet, on Facebook. We got talking about various things, and then I realized he’d also handled the PR for three on my dad’s movies. I told him, I’d need someone like him soon and he immediately asked for my cell number." With the trust factor in place, the net-savvy Narmmadaa consulted her father, had two meetings with the public relations expert and signed him on within the next three days.

The unique thing here is that they found each other over a medium like Facebook, which the publicist uses as a business tool. Let’s see, if more Bollywood actors and publicists follow this trend now.
