Looking ravishing and svelte in her new chiselled figure, Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu launched her workout DVD for women here Friday evening, and said even her macho beau John Abraham could’nt resist trying out the fitness regime.

The 31-year-old launched her DVD, “Bipasha Basu love yourself…fit & fabulous you”, targeted towards women at an event here.

“Even though I have targeted this DVD towards women, if guys want they can try too… John once tried the exercise and he was blown away,” said Bipasha.

Bipasha, who is known to be a fitness enthusiast has created a unique work out programme lasting 25 minutes. The DVD has been launched under Shemaroo. It is based on the core idea and motive of being strong, healthy and loving yourself.

“Be strong and healthy, love yourself. Make time for your own self. Looking good is an extra bonus. If your health is good, every aspect of your life is fantastic. Your focus in life is better; you achieve your goals faster. Exercising and eating right is a big challenge. But we have to accept this challenge, if we love ourselves,” added Bipasha.

Actress Anjana Sukhani who acted in the movie Golmaal Returns was the other attraction of the night. She performed to a couple of popular tracks from her films along with Marjawa, a famous song from the movie Fashion.

Singer Sudesh Bhosle regaled the crowd with his songs and mimicry with Preety Pinki. The Indipop duo belted out some of their major hits.

Actress Bipasha Basu and singer Sudesh Bhosle will add glitz to the New Year eve celebrations at the Sahara Star Hotel here, says an official.

“Bipasha Basu will perform in our hotel on New Year eve,” Vivek Kumar, CEO of hotel, told IANS.

He, however, refused to reveal how much Bipasha was charging for her performance.

“She is priceless. We do not attach any price to art, but yes, there are certain commitments that will be fulfilled,” said Kumar, and added that Sudesh Bhonsle would also perform.

Asked about other performers, he said: “We are in very advanced talks with some other celebrities and I think it will be confirmed very soon who else are going to be there.”

Kumar informed that they have designed various packages and priced them differently for those who want to enjoy the New Year eve extravaganza.

She is known for her bold image in Bollywood, but dusky beauty Bipasha Basu will now be seen in a slew of non-commercial films like the Bengali “Shob Charitro Kalponik”, “Pankh” and “Lamhaa”. She insists she is not making any special attempts to change her image and would love to do more Bengali films if they are interesting.

“I like to do films that are entertainers, glamorous, fun, action and definitely realistic. There is no effort that I am putting towards an image change with non-commercial films. I just feel that in the Hindi film industry, where you look in a particular manner, people consider your USP as something and you get a little typecast,” Bipasha told IANS in a telephone interview from Mumbai.

“But I’m not trying to break any typecast. It’s just that within the given limitations, I’m trying to push and taste everything a little bit,” she added.

Bipasha plays a Kashmiri girl in director Rahul Dholakia’s “Lamhaa”, has a supporting role in arthouse film “Pankh’” and in her just released Bengali film debut she plays a typical sari-wearing Bengali woman.

Thmakers of Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu starrer Aa Dekhen Zara are set to release the fast-paced romantic musical thriller again on Friday. Director Jehangir Surti’s film was first released on March 27 and was shown only in single screen theatres because of the stand-off between producers and multiplexes.

But now when the matter is resolved, Aa Dekhen Zara is being re-released on a big scale — it will hit 170 screens across India.”This is a perfect opportunity to re-release the film. We are really excited and looking forward to audiences visiting theatres to watch one of the first films to be released post strike.

Percept Picture Company is looking cast bigger stars in this one as they have a good budget at hand too. It is approximately Rs20 crore. But that would mean that most of the people from the original 2006 film’s cast would be replaced. It anyways had a big cast like Raj Babbar, Rajat Kapoor, Kay kay Menon, Lillete Dubey. So, let’s see who they will be cast in it."

Navin Shah, head honcho of Percept Picture Company, says: "It is true that Bipasha Basu is very much on top of our minds and it is also true that we might be changing people from the original cast but names haven’t been finalised yet. I have to clarify one thing that this film is a sequel but has a completely new plot. Scripting is being done right now so we cannot reveal further details but since it is Corporate 2, it will have politics and infighting among elite companies. The story is not inspired by anyone’s life and the storyline is purely a part of fiction."
