Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi is going to enter a new phase in his life when his first child arrives early next year and he says that he is eagerly waiting for this new role.
“The baby is due in February. People say it’s a completely different dimension and I am eagerly waiting for this new change. I dont know what it is. But it’s supposedly tough being a dad so let’s see,” said Emraan on a visit to the Capital to promote his film “Tum Mile”.
The actor, who has done films like “Kalyug”, “Murder” and “Jannat”, among others, married long-time girlfriend Parveen Shahani in 2006.

In his 6 years long career so far, Emraan Hashmi is yet to be seen in a conventional Bollywood cinema where the leading man is all correct and proper with a clean heart and no grey shades. Revelling in the kind of roles that he has picked for himself, Emraan has broken quite a few stereotypes and created his own place under the sun. He may still be awaiting his 50 crore hit, something which is pretty much a benchmark for any leading man to break into the top bracket today. However, Emraan is content that he is at least trying not to follow any conventional or tried and tested trends and is giving something new to the audience in each of his films. Emraan gets into a conversation with Joginder Tuteja and explains what makes his films different.

One of Bollywood’s most bankable stars, Emraan Hashmi, says people have contantly tried to pull him down. He also believes the new film “Tum Mile” will present him in a new avatar, having mostly essayed roles with shades of grey.
“In the kind of industry I am, every creative person has a judgment to make about someone else’s performance. After doing a movie, I may think that I have come up with my best act, but others may think otherwise. You can’t help it,” shrugs Emraan, 30.
“This is something that has happened ever since I made my debut with ‘Footpath’. I went on to deliver successful films practically every year with ‘Murder’, ‘Zeher’ and ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ followed by ‘Aksar’ and ‘Gangster’. Still people have tried to pull me down,” Emraan told IANS in an interview.
He is sitting pretty on the back to back success of “Raaz – The Mystery Continues” and “Jannat”. A year earlier, he came up with one of the best ever acts of his career in “Awarapan”.
And now he is about to be seen in “Tum Mile”, his most expensive film till date that will release Nov 13. It co-stars Soha Ali Khan.

Bollywood stars have taken strong objection to the communal remarks made by Emraan Hashmi. The Serial Kisser had alleged that he was denied an NOC to purchase a flat in the Nibbana Housing society in the Bandra locality because he was a Muslim. Although his god father Mahesh Bhatt stood in support for the Murder star top Bollywood stars have criticised him for his remarks.
Salman slammed Emraan’s comments and said had religious profiling happened in this country Emraan Hashmi would not have been a star. He added that the testament to the secular nature of this country is the stardom that he, Shahrukh and Aamir have achieved. He said that such an incident could have happened due to Emraan’s individual character rather than his religious beliefs. Salman however appealed to the housing society to give and NOC to Emraan.
Shahrukh brushed aside the issue stating that such incidents should not be given importance. He said that in the past 44 years he had never felt discriminated in his life. Shahrukh also said that it was an one-off incident and should not be seen with communal eyes. Shahrukh added that India was growing because people had overcome the barriers of religion, castes, class in their hearts and minds.

Emraan Hashmi was in a state of shock when he was not allowed to buy a house in Pali Hill, Mumbair because he is a Muslim.
Uncle Mahesh Bhatt saus, “Emraan did hear about these things but this was his first such experience. he was truly surprised, as he thought such things did not exist in a city like Mumbai.”
“While Emraan feels he was subjected to a communal bias, he has not painted everyone with the same brush. He has not generalized any particular community.”

Smooch king of Bollywood and a hot favorite among the fairer sex turned 29 years old on March 24. Emraan Hashmi who made his foray into Bollywood through the Bhatt camp, as a side hero in the movie Footpath and went on to carve a niche for himself in the industry. He is the pet boy of the Bhatt camp and has mostly worked in films under Mahesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Banner.
Emraan Hashmi claim to fame movie was Murder, his first hit. Apart from Murder, his other movies like Zeher, Kalyug, Aksar and Gangster did relatively well at the box office. Emraan Hashmi’s every movie has rocking blockbuster musical soundtracks which has helped him acquire a large fan following.
Emraan Hashmi is now gearing up for his new movie Jannat, which is about betting and match fixing scandals in cricket.
Lets wish our Serial Kisser Emraan a very happy birthday and a very happy and successful life ahead, and wish him all the luck for his upcoming movie Jannat releasing on 2nd of May.

Emraan Hashmi turned 3 decades older yesterday i.e he turned 30 on 23rd March. Emraan was formerly known as Farhan Hashmi but later changed his name back to his birth name Emran with an extra ‘a’.
Emraan made his debut with the flick Footpath in 2003, and then success came his way with his next flick Murder and then there was no looking back for this serial kisser, who is always associated with flims with great music.
We wish Emraan Hashmi a very happy birthday and a great year ahead.

Biography : Emran Anwar Hashmi was born to a Muslim father and Catholic mother. He changed his name to Farhaan Hashmi but recently reverted to his original name, albeit with an extra “a” as per numerology beliefs. He graduated from Sydenham College. He is the nephew of Mahesh Bhatt and is a cousin of actress and director Pooja Bhatt. He married Parveen Shahani at an elaborate ceremony on Thursday, December 14th, 2006. The reception was held at a plush hotel in Bandra, Mumbai and was limited to the family members and close friends of the actor.
Career
Hashmi made his debut in 2003 with the film Footpath however, it did not do well at the box office. He shot to fame with Murder (2004) which was his first hit. His next few films such as Zeher (2005), Kalyug (2005) and Gangster (2006) have done well at the box office and the soundtracks in these respective films have helped create a large fan base. Incidentally, all the songs from his movies have become instant hits. The playback singers for most of his film’s songs has been Himesh Reshammiya, Kunal Ganjawala and Atif Aslam.
Emraan is also famous for his kissing scenes in most of his movies and has gained the title of ‘Serial Kisser’ in the bollywood industry. Emraan also described his first on screen kiss during an interview claiming that he was very nervous and almost opted out of the scene before going ahead and shooting it with the female co-star.
Recently he decided to try and strip himself of the lover boy or ‘Serial Kisser’ image and he has said in many interviews that he hopes the release of his new film Awarapan will show him in a different light and after watching it people will stop seeing him as a lover boy and instead start to look at him as a serious and mature actor.
