‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star Freida Pinto has ruled out starring in a Bollywood movie as she thinks many of the films are "churned out" by producers with no quality control.
The Mumbai-born actress, who shot to worldwide fame with the Oscar-winning movie, has been offered several "stereotypical" roles in India but is adamant not to star in an all-singing, all-dancing Bollywood movie, reported Contactmusic.
"I wouldn’t want to do a Bollywood film per se, but I would like to do an Indian-language film. For some reason I think Bollywood has become synonymous with commercial cinema, which is song and dance and everything that is larger than life, and I am interested in the reality… It is great to have entertainment, but I think there needs to be something that also makes you want to go back and think about what you’ve seen," said Pinto.
The 26-year-old actress, who has starred in Woody Allen’s latest film and has also signed a Hollywood sci-fi, said that she wants to act in films which carry some meaning. "Mindless cinema is not my cup of tea… I could get into trouble for saying that. I don’t think Bollywood is only mindless cinema, but a lot of films they churn out are not films that I completely enjoy watching," said the actress.

The Oscar-winning “Slumdog Millionaire” actress is back in town to continue working on a new Woody Allen project also starring Anthony Hopkins, Josh Brolin and Naomi Watts.
The return to London comes on the heels of a stay in New York City, where Miss Pinto enjoyed a romantic dinner date with her “Slumdog” co-star beau Dev Patel a little over a week ago.
The rendezvous saw the two join up at a Big Apple hotel, with Dev making the trip from Philadelphia, where he has been filming M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender”.

Stories of Freida Pinto’s popularity overtaking that of Bollywood’s reigning queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been rampant ever since the release of multiple Oscar-winner Slumdog Millionaire.
After questions of who out of the two is more beautiful and more importantly, who is being paid more, now Freida seems to be replacing Ash in yet another way.
Reports say that after the attention given to Freida thanks to Slumdog and her recent international projects, she might be the Indian face on the red carpet of all major international film festival and award ceremonies.
Thus far, Aishwarya has been considered the most beautiful Indian woman and even the most beautiful woman in the world, and as a result, she is invited to festivals like the pretigious Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival and others.
Now that Freida is working with the likes of Woody Allen, and is doing an Israeli film, she has joined the international film community in a more immediate way. This might ensure that she becomes a household name when it comes to the Indian quotient that festival organisers scramble for nowadays.
If rumourville reports are to be believed, Aishwarya managed to keep Sonam Kapoor off the Cannes red carpet, but how will she deal with Freida?

When the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ girl Freida Pinto expressed her wish to work with Bollywood’s realistic moviemaker, Madhur Bhandarkar, the latter was so flattered with the lady’s desire that he said that he would “love to work with her”.
“I’m quite flattered to hear Freida wants to work with me. I think she is aware of my female-oriented cinema. She must have seen the performances that Tabu and Konkona Sen Sharma gave in Chandni Bar and Page 3. I’d love to work with Freida,” Bhandarkar said.
“Today, I’m at a stage where an actress of Freida’s international popularity singles me out. I guess I must’ve done something right in these 10 years as a director. Can you imagine the kind of potboilers I’d be making if my first film Trishakti had clicked?”
Reportedly, Miss Pinto had expressed this heartfelt desire of hers in an interview to the international press where she said that she would do a Bollywood film only if it was a Bhandarkar film.

For the first time, Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto has confessed that she’s in love with Dev Patel. So much newsprint has been used up speculating about Freida’s love life. That she dumped her Mumbai-based fiancé after the release of the film was confirmed by the man himself, but neither Freida nor her ‘Slumdog’ co-star Dev Patel came clear about their relationship, even as Anil Kapoor , who played the quiz show host in the film, said in February that he suspected that something was going on between Dev and Freida.
The rumours of a brewing romance between them were all but confirmed when the two were spotting cozying up at a restaurant in Israel and shopping for a ring in London.Even Dev’s mom could not keep the secret and revealed to a tabloid that she was happy about Dev and Freida and that they looked good together.
Now, Freida has broken her silence and confirmed that her friendship with Dev has reached another level – love.“The friendship blossomed after the film, it got even stronger. This is all new to us,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

“Slumdog Millionaire” catapulted her to Hollywood and now actress Freida Pinto is in the league of actresses vying to be the new Bond girl. Freida was invited to a screen test for the next spy adventure, reports thesun.co.uk.
The 24-year-old actress was apparently first spotted by producers during the casting for “Quantum of Solace” – the 22nd Bond film released last year.
“Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting ‘Quantum of Solace’. She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent. But she has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel Craig’s arm,” a source said.
The chances of the actress’ participation in the film seem strong as executive producer of the film Barbara Broccoli is eager to cast her.
“Danny Boyle is favourite to take the helm of the next movie which would increase Freida’s chances of a starring role,” added the source.
If Freida is lucky enough to bag the role of a Bond girl, it would be her next international project after the Woody Allen movie that she has been signed up for.
