Newbie Imran Khan is being praised for his dressing style and the handsome lad shares his style secret.

Imran says, “”I am influenced quite a bit from the West as far as my styling goes. Firstly, I don’t wear a lot of Indian clothes. The actual styling is done by my stylist Harmeet. He has done my styling for my new film Luck and almost all my photo shoots.

For me, suit styling has got to be always based on Oceans Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen. Brad Pitt and George Clooney wore suits as if they were carrying a jeans and a t-shirt. Skinny ties are in and you have to match up to the world and not the West.”

Friday Jul 3, 2009

Imran Khan is all set to romance his childhood friend and debutant Shruti Hassan in upcoming flick Luck and both insists they are just good friends.

When Shruti was quizzed whether she took Imran as her brother, she said, “Let’s not get into the brother sister relationships. We have been friends for the last so many years that I have lost count. We are romancing each other in the film so just keep to that. One can’t romance a brother, in fact the thought itself is repugnant.”

Imran also reacted in the same way saying, “Don’t use the word sister, it sounds horrible. We are more of friends. One can’t romance a sister. It’s sounds very repulsive.”

Well Imran’s girl Avantika might not be happy with this statement.

Imran Burnt His Eyelashes During Stunt

Thursday Jul 2, 2009

Imran Khan2

Imran Khan is known to be a daredevil, he always insists on doing his own stunts and refuses to use body doubles and this has lead to few injuries for the cute actor.

Imran says, “Shooting an action film can lead to plenty of injuries. A muscle pull, certain bruises are quite usual. In Luck, I sustained an injury while shooting the train scene. When the train was on fire, the flames went up a little too high and my eyelashes and the skin under my eyes got burnt.”

Imran covered his bruised skin with make-up for around two weeks but didn’t use fake eye-lashes ‘coz “people don’t tend to notice them often”.

Imran’s gain is Katrina’s loss

Katrina Kaif14

Katrina Kaif, who was paired for the first time with heartthrob Imran Khan in Sanjay Gadhvi’s 7 Days in Paris, was eagerly looking forward tothe film. It is a romance set in Paris. But her excitement fizzled out when the final script turned out to be different from the one narrated to her. Changes were made in the script according to Imran Khan’s demands. Our source said, “Studio 18 had roped in Imran and Katrina for the film directed by Gadhvi. Katrina was very kicked about the film and rehearsed for it enthusiastically. The costumes were finalised and the film was set to roll from June 25. Meanwhile, Imran suggested some changes to the script, which reduced Katrina’s role considerably.

This did not go down too well with her. Considering that she is playing major roles in all her other films, she had second thoughts about doing bit roles. So she eventually bowed out of the film. Katrina already has a two-film deal with the production house and will work with them in some other film. The makers are now searching for a replacement for her.Imran can’t be blamed for putting his foot down after the disastrous Kidnap assaulted the viewers’ intelligence. The source added, “When Imran worked with Gadhvi in Kidnap, the director had refused to show him even a single frame before its release and the film bombed.

So this time, Gadhvi has no choice but to bow down to the diktat of the actor.Katrina Kaif maintained a diplomatic stand. She said, “I am in talks about the film and have a great working relationship with Studio 18, but let the script materialise first. Then we will take a call. Despite repeated attempts, Sanjay Gadhvi remained unavailable for comment. Ditto Imran Khan

Imran Khan is a huge fan of cars, especially hot models like Ferrari, BMW etc etc, so when he spotted a vintage Ferrari at his recent outing for a photoshoot in London, he made sure that the classic car was used as a prop in one his photos.

A source reveals, “They were shooting in heritage locations across London. The vintage car caught Imran’s attention and he immediately stopped to admire it. He then walked up to the owner of the car and introduced himself. In no time, the two started discussing the make and history of the car.”

“Imran then convinced the owner to lend him the car for the shoot. Given Imran’s palpable excitement, the owner had no choice but to give in to his request. The owner was so bowled over by the fact that Imran was posing with his car that he clicked the actor’s pictures on his mobile to show it to his wife.”

Behind the lens man, photographer Avinash Gowarikar reliving the experience says, “We were first going to shoot in a park. But once Imran spotted the Ferrari, he refused to budge. He learnt some interesting details about the car. It was a 1956 model and had won 150 races. The owner had even attached all the winning tags to the gear rod. Imran convinced the owner to let us use the car. We were lucky as it made for a very good picture.”

Imran explaining his passion for cars says, “I know a lot about cars and so the owner and me hit it off really well. He was totally ok with our shooting with his car.”

Well this photo does make us go crazy and vroooom!

Sonam-Imran A Cute Pair

Thursday Jun 4, 2009

Sonam Kapoor3

Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan complement each other alot, this was obvious at a recent magazine launch in Mumbai.

Sonam who is doing her next flick with Imran says, “I think Imran is one of the most beautiful men that i have seen. He’s gorgeous. We are doing Dharma Production’s next. It’s a romantic-comedy, it has a great script.”

Imran said,”I met her for the first time at the premier of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” and then Sonam interrupted him and said,”Can I tell the story please?.”

Imran then said, “Sonam would like to tell you the story. There is no conversation, there is more of a monologue, I am a very good listener.”

To which Sonam said, “That is not true. He just does not shut up.”

However the awesome twosome are mum about the upcoming release Luck and prefer not to brag about it in advance.

Youth The New Mantra Of Bollywood

Saturday May 30, 2009

Imran Khan1

In a country which has a burgeoning population between the age group of 16 to 30, gone is the time when the audiences would like to see a 40 something romance a 20 something. Gone too are the days of a middle aged hero trying to pass off as a college boy.
There was a time not too long ago, when one had middle aged heroes masquerading as college going students. But these days, when the majority of the population is young, and by logical extension, so is the majority of the cinema watching audience, the focus on youth and youth oriented films becomes so much more significant. That would probably explain the emergence of a strong breed of newcomers both male and female, who have emerged in Bollywood, like a Ranbir Kapoor, an Imran Khan, a Abhay Deol, a Neil Nitin Mukesh, a John Abraham, an Abhishek Bachchan or a Shahid Kapur among males and a Katrina Kaif, Asin and Genelia D’Souza among the females. Of course, it is equally true that a Shah Rukh Khan or an Aamir Khan can still probably carry off a role opposite one of the young females. But it is also equally true that gradually they will find it difficult to be cast romantically opposite the young brigade. Though in Bollywood, it is an age old tradition that heroes never become old, but women do. But one sees this barrier breaking with the invasion of youth. There has always been a trickle of new blood entering the industry every year, but in the last year or so, it has changed into something more than a trickle. One has younger filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap finally becoming commercially accepted as well. It makes one wonder if youth power is here to stay or is it just another passing fancy in Bollywood. But a look at the forthcoming releases of the year leads one to believe that it may just be something more enduring than a matter of timing. The lineup of films over the next few months of this year would have films like Soham Shah’s Luck, with Imran and Shruti Hassan, besides Sanjay Dutt of course. There are also films like New York, a young director and a young cast in John, Neil and Katrina, Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ajab Desh Ki Gazab Kahani starring Ranbir and Katrina, Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey starring Shahid and Priyanka, Ken Ghosh’s film with Shahid and Genelia Anees bazmee’s It’s My Life with Harman Baweja and Genelia and Yash Raj’s Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year with Ranbir and Shahzan Padamsee. These are all major films being made by directors of repute and it hjust goes ahead to seal the argument that youth power is here to stay in Bollywood. That leads one to the next question. Where do the SRKs, the Aamir Khans and the Salman Khans go from here? It would be interesting to see these actors reinventing themselves and staying in the competition.

Sequel For Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Friday Mar 27, 2009

Jai and Aditi will be back again, as Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na director Abbas Tyrewala is planning a sequel for his teenage hit flick, this time the movie deals with Jai and Aditi’s marriage woes.

Abbas says, “It starts with Jai (Imran Khan) and Aditi (Genelia D’Souza) having problems in their marriage. They are on the verge of a divorce after Jai ends up drunk and having a onenight-stand.”

Genelia is maha excited about the sequel and says, “A film like Jaane Tu doesn’t happen every day. It fell into my lap by chance. All of us in Jaane Tu have got busy. Everyone went their way. I’ve been working round the clock on my films and endorsements. But whenever I meet Abbas or Imran, we feel the same warmth that we felt during the making of the film. It would be fun for the whole team to be reunited.”
