Neelima Azeem, who had a busy 2015 courtesy her star son Shahid Kapoor‘s wedding, is now back to her usual grind focusing on dance shows and acting offers.
It’s a season of comebacks and one actress who is gearing up to return to celluloid is danseuse actress Neelima Azeem. Neelima, who had a busy 2015 courtesy her star son Shahid Kapoor’s wedding, is now back to her usual grind focusing on dance shows and acting offers.
“I am in the talks of doing something right now,” shared Neelima and added, “I am back in shape now and I am open to good acting offers. There are a lot of good serious roles that are being written these days and I would certainly love to essay them.”
Neelima, who is trained in Kathak under renowned guru Pandit Birju Maharaj, will soon be leaving for foreign shores for her shows. “We have a tour to look forward to abroad. Last year I came back to dancing after 30 years and did four shows. Being a student of Pandit Birju Mahraj, I was really welcomed back with open arms.”
While Shahid has already proved his mettle as a champion dancer, it is his 19-year-old half brother, Ishaan who is now grabbing eyeballs for his moves. And Neelima being the proud mother can’t stop beaming while raving about her younger son’s dancing prowess.
“I have been taking care of both my kids at different times. There is a 14.5 year age difference between both. Ishaan is all grown up and working. He is a tremendous dancer too. He has trained under Shaimak Davar for a year. He is following a certain trend of dancing which is basically worked upon by him.”
When asked about his acting aspirations, Neelima said, “He is working towards it. Right now he is very young.”
