Her teaming with a certain ‘Lafangey’ in a YRF flick didn’t really "fly high". And Deepika Padukone is now sanguine of creating news with her fresh pairing up with Shahid Kapur in a flick helmed by Sabir Khan (‘Kambakht Ishq’).
Just days after he’d signed up for ‘Heer Ranjha’, Sasha who’s thick in the midst of filming dad Pankaj Kapur’s ‘Mausam’, has nodded assent to sharing screen space with DP in producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s future flick.
Reveals a highly placed source, "The race for the leading lady of ‘Heer Ranjha’ was between Katrina Kaif and Deepika. Sabir has worked with Kareena earlier, but since he signed Shahid for the film, there was no question of taking Kareena in it. Katrina already had her hands full and could not allot any dates in February 2011, which is when the Sajid Nadiadwala production is all set to roll. Finally, Deepika was selected for ‘Heer Ranjha’ which happens to be a romantic comedy."
