Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann finds a reflection of Shakespeare’s plays in Bollywood films and was so impressed with Indian stars and Hindi movies that he used the song “Chamma, Chamma” in his musical “Moulin Rouge”. Now the Oscar-nominated director is keen to work on a film in India and collaborate with music maestro A.R. Rahman.
“There are a number of classic stars here and there are a few new Indian actors as well who are doing things differently. The idea of working with Indian actors has always excited me and if it works out I definitely will. I am keeping my fingers crossed,” Luhrmann told IANS in an interview.
This is Luhrmann’s fourth trip to India. So did he gather from the trip any fodder for his next project? “I wouldn’t say fodder, but every time I come here it has had a direct effect on my life and my work. There are many things I am working on. I have many pieces that could be played in India,” he said.

Katrina Kaif, the desire of every heart, perfect figured Bollywood diva; whose face glows even without the need of any external source hits the chart yet another time. She has been voted the sexiest Asian actress by Eastern Eye.
But the twist in the tale is that Katrina brushes aside all this stating that “Me? Hot and sexy? Nah. People should see me at home. I’m painfully unglamorous. Just another working girl making a living,” Katrina said.
Now should we consider it to a humble reply or just a remark to grab more attention? Recently the buzz was on that she was plying for house as there were fans who were trying to peep inside her house.
“Though it’s a little noisy on my street I’m too attached to the place I stay in. I’m also too lazy to make a move. Yes, I’ll need a bigger place when my sister Isabelle joins me. Even we want to see her sister acting in films. Hope both of you will give cut throat completion to the leading ladies of B-town.
It’s been a wonderful year for Kats with two big hits and we wish her all the best for her coming films Rajneeti, especially where she will be seen shedding her glam quotient off! She is playing the role of a politician. If not you Kats, then it’s your fans who takes immense pleasure in you being called the sexiest Asian Women of the Year.

The film has broken all records to rake in a whopping 51 crores in the first weekend itself! The style and look of the film, the wild scenic beauty of the oceans, the fast paced action on land and in water has had the audiences rushing to the theatres!

To top it off, the film stars top Bollywood actors like Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Rahul Dev and Katrina Kaif making it the ultimate visual treat!
Having created waves in the Box-office, ‘BLUE’ looks poised to become a landmark film!
He has dabbled in acting, production, playback singing and also worked as a television host, but Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has no plans to direct a film.
“Direction is a very difficult and classified job, which I feel I am incapable of doing. Since I don’t possess the skills to make a film, I would not like to do it. I am happy doing the other things I have been doing,” Amitabh told reporters here.
He also refused to be dragged into the controversy relating to an FIR against him and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh in Kanpur. Amitabh said: “I have nothing to say and I am not concerned. Amar Singhji has already explained.”
The veteran actor, who is looking forward to two of his forthcoming films “Aladin” and “Paa”, also clarified that he is not working on any project centred on the Taj Mahal. “My forthcoming film ‘Johny Mastana’ does have a scene of the Taj Mahal,” he said.
The 67-year-old, who is the brand ambassador of Max New York Life Insurance, was here to launch the new insurance policy “Aukat Par Vijay”.
Asked when he would become a grandfather, Amitabh said: “It’s not in my hands.”
When quizzed about his love and hate relationship with the media, he said: “I feel that Indian media is very capable. I completely respect the media and I don’t have any problem with them. It’s just that since I have a medium today to express myself so whenever there is a correction to be made I do that through my blog,” he said.
With all the buzz about the 10th Annual International Indian Film Academy Awards you would think that the best of B-town would be in attendance, but it looks like the event organizers have to deal with a bunch of no-shows. So who’s not coming ? Shahrukh Khan was first in line to "call out" and it seems like many actors are following suit. Farah Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Akshay Kumar have also declined the invitation. Yikes! So what are their excuses?
Someone close to Akshay Kumar was quoted as saying that "a family vacation was planned well in advance to coincide with Akshay’s son Aarav’s school holidays. Akshay doesn’t like leaving Aarav behind when he is out of the country. At the same time he doesn’t want his son to miss school. So the annual holiday was planned well in advance. No power on earth, not even IIFA, is going to persuade Akshay to take even a small break from the holiday, let alone break his little boy’s heart." Well although that sounds like a good enough reason it didn’t stop event planners from trying to get Akki to the awards.
They reportedly offered to fly Akshay Kumar in and when he declined, they offered to let his entire family attend as well. Unfortunately for them he still said no.
Shahid Kapoor has had to change his plans of attending because his schedule has just gotten filled thanks to all the releases that he’s got coming out this year. He said that "I was looking forward to performing at IIFA and showcasing ‘Kaminey’, however my commitment to my producer has to be honored and I regret being unable to attend this year."
Kareena Kapoor and Farah Khan are also not planning on showing up. Oh man, will the show still meet everyone’s high expectations for it? Well at least we know that the Big B will be present ! Also the event is supposed to still have some great performances. Let us know you thoughts below.

Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi ran into trouble with some policemen while shooting for Rensil D’Silva’s film Qurbaan in New York. Both the actors were almost arrested while shooting for the film.
A source said, "Vivek and Saif were shooting in a hilly region in New York. It was a scene where both the actors had to drive a car and the camera was placed quite far as it was a long shot. The actors kept driving for a long time as they were required to give various takes as the scene was being shot from several angles. However, the locals, who had no clue that a film shoot was on, started getting suspicious when they saw the two Indians driving around aimlessly. They wasted no time in calling the cops who immediately came and started questioning Vivek and Saif."
Vivek and Saif told the policemen they were actors from India and were shooting for a film. However, the cops refused to believe them. Much to the frustration of the two actors, the cops flatly refused to believe that a shooting was on as there was no crew member or camera nearby.
"Even though the production team saw what was happening on their monitors, and one of them immediately rushed to help, it took him a good 10 minutes before he could reach the actors. By then the cops had almost arrested them on suspicion and were all set to take them to the police station. However, the unit member rescued the actors in the nick of time. The cops only let them go after all the necessary documents were shown," added the source.

In what could be described as a too-good-to-be-true incident, character artist of Bollywood, Anupam Kher has bagged himself an offer to act in a Woody Allen film. This piece of information was confirmed to the actor by his international agent. It is for this film that Freida Pinto has been signed too. Mr. Kher has bagged a role to act as Freida’s dad!
Anupam who is visibly thrilled b the offer from Woody Allen considers this as an opportunity of his lifetime and has said he could not have asked for anything better. The actor who is a hardcore fan of the Hollywood director considers being on the same location with the famed director itself a pride.
This much-hyped Woody Allen’s forth coming venture will have Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Freida Pinto and now Anupam Kher in the credits. The film which is yet to be titled is preparing to go on floors by July 2009 and will have London as the back drop. The film might hit theatres by 2010.
With many Indian faces making their presence in the international arena felt let us hope the academy awards won’t be too far!

You may be wondering how Shahid Kapur after breaking up with Priyanka Chopra has found a new love so soon. No it’s not any new gal that Shahid is dating but he has fallen in deep love with a camera that he had purchased recently. Shahid’s love for his new priced procession has created a headache for filmmakers Ken Ghosh and Ahmed Khan. They are irritated with his behavior as anytime Shahid keeps on moving with his camera focusing angles and gathering knowledge about its different parts and their utilization on the set of ‘Yahoo’ and ‘Paathshala’. Rather than capturing himself, he simple likes to capture his surroundings. Poor Shahid, after receiving so many heart-strokes, he may be soothing himself with electronic gadgets.
