Big B wrote on his blog, “Aishwarya has taken ill and is down with chest infection and flu like symptoms. She had a high fever yesterday, but is settling down today.”

“It’s worrying to be so far away from children and not be there to look after them. Yes, they are mature and married and responsible, but children will always remain children.”

Oscar winner musician A. R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) will deliver a free concert in Sydney (Australia) to make a “statement of peace” in view of recent racial attacks on Indian students in Australia.
He reportedly said that this concert, to be held at Parramatta Park on January 16, was an attempt to “reunite culturally and spiritually” in view of the recent bad vibe. He hopes that it creates a “bridge of understanding and love” and breaks down “cultural misunderstandings”. Premier Nathan Rees of New South Wales has congratulated Rahman for this offer.
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently refused an honorary degree from the Queensland University of Technology of Australia in view of these racial attacks.

Rahman, who has reportedly recorded sales of over 300 million, was called “Mozart of Madras” by Time magazine. Pop icon Michael Jackson reportedly approached him before his death to partner on a peace anthem on the lines of “We are the World”. Ashutosh giving confirmation and says ‘Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se is inpired from the book Do and Die by Manini Chatterjee. Book is about the Chittagong Uprising of 1930 so try to potray the things in the movie.He added says ‘It will be a period-thriller film with Abhishek playing Surjya Sen.’

Sunny Deol held a press meet yesterday for taking a legal action against a radio station for spoiling the image of the Deol family. He along with his lawyer were present at the venue addressing what went wrong.

Big 92 FM is the radio station that use to run a small section called Son Sunny where the voices of Sunny and Dharmendra were imitated. The content lampooned Sunny and Dharmendra, which made the listeners laugh.

Sunny did not like the idea of FM Radio making fun of his family and stated that, “We all are from the same industry, why to do such things. I was getting call from every where about such show on radio and this has upset my whole family.”

When asked of how many crore rupees they are slapping on the radio channel, Sunny evasively replied, “That you need to ask my lawyer.” “Though I am not here to fight and if the radio station is ready to be sorry of what they did, I may forgive them,” he concludes.

Bollywood hottie Mallika Sherawat continues to take Hollywood by storm! Now she is hanging out with rock stars. A report by India Blooms seems like Mallika Sherawat now-a-days is more interested in making headlines than acting in Bollywood films.Recently she was hanging out with rock stars at the famed Sunset Strip music venue The House of Blues. As a special guest of Donovan Leitch (son of legendary musician Donovan) at his Camp Freddy gig, Mallika met and hobnobbed with Ace Frehely of the band KISS, Duff McKagan of ‘Guns n Roses’, Dave Navarro of ‘Janes Addiction’, Billy Duffy of ‘The Cult’ and Ozzy Ozbourne.
Accompanied by her Los Angeles entourage, Mallika hung out backstage before the show, and then enjoyed her very first rock concert down front of the stage for the full experience. She ”tweeted” throughout the night on her Twitter social networking account, saying to her followers ”OMG! Ozzy’s on right now! I have no eardrums left!” and that notorious rake of rock Dave Navarro was ”very charming and a perfect gentlemen.”
When asked what she thought of the concert, she replied ”She had great fun. Donovan was the perfect host. For my first rock concert, it couldn’t have been better!”

Now close to 20 years after establishing himself in the industry, Akshay Kumar is all set to be living his dream. He is now sponsoring a Karate Championship for the youngsters so that they can enhance their talent, represent the country and then move on to showcase their skills and abilities at an International level.
The championship has rightly been termed as ‘Akshay Kumar 1st Invitational Open National Karate Championship’. The event is expected to see participation from as many as 2000 athletes who would be traveling to Mumbai from across the country. The Championships would be held from 22nd-25th October 2009 at Andheri Sports Complex Mumbai.
Says an official connected to the championship, "Akshay has always been passionate about Karate and is especially considerate about the fact that there is so much talent in the country that needs to be nurtured. He was particularly moved by the plight of some really talented athletes who could reach the highest level if given an opportunity but haven’t been able to do so because of lack of funds. With this championship, he wishes to create a platform where young and budding talent from all over India would get together and get into a world class fighting event. This event will also promote Karate and Martial Arts to the remotest corners of the country."
The entire championship is a brain child of Shihan Mehul Vora, a martial arts practitioner for over 27 years and International teacher for 15 years. Incidentally, Akshay’s son Aarav gets trained on martial arts at Vora’s class.
"I still remember Akshay coming to my Karate Class to watch Aarav train. Whenever he would see a child in need. he would ask me if he/she child would need a sponsorship", says Vora, "When I would tell him that there were so many out there who couldn’t afford going to a Karate tournament due to lack of funds, he would always encourage me to think around how this situation could be bettered and he would extend any help that I would ask."
This is when Vora decided to bring up the topic of the championship. "I shared the idea of championship with him and he was immediately on board", Vora gets nostalgic here, "The idea of Akshay Kumar Invitational Open National Karate Championship was born there and then. The students who would be coming for this championship won’t have to worry about the cost implications since Akshay would be bearing it all."
While bouts would be held from age groups as young as 6 years in all weight categories for men as well as women, it is also expected that some of the biggest names in Indian Karate would be taking part in this championship. Also, there would be a team of world class referees, judges and coaches along with international grandmasters and observers from Japan, Holland and Italy joining in.

Rakhi Sawant is really happy with her engagement with Elesh Parunjwala and forgived her ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi but is in no mood to forgive her mother.

She says, “I completely forgive Abhishek Awasthi. I was very surprised to know that he showed up on Sunday for my scheduled wedding. Surprised and touched. If I knew, I’d have welcomed him. Yesterday, he was my boyfriend. Today, he’s my friend.”

Talking about her mother she says, “Please, all that nautanki on television for five minutes can’t take away the pain I’ve gone through. As far as I’m concerned that chapter of my life is closed.”

Moving on to Elesh she says,”I was all set to marry Elesh on Sunday. But it was Elesh who said he wanted more time to get to know me. I’m very confident of him. But if he needs more time to get to know me, how can I force myself on him? I’m ready to wait as long as he wants.”

While Elesh is a Canadian businessman Rakhi is not going to shift to Canada, she says, “I’m completely sure Elesh is the man for me. But I do have a career in Mumbai. So he’ll have to plan our future accordingly.”

Rakhi is going to Toronto with fiance Elesh for his sister’s wedding.

Bollywood stars have taken strong objection to the communal remarks made by Emraan Hashmi. The Serial Kisser had alleged that he was denied an NOC to purchase a flat in the Nibbana Housing society in the Bandra locality because he was a Muslim. Although his god father Mahesh Bhatt stood in support for the Murder star top Bollywood stars have criticised him for his remarks.

Salman slammed Emraan’s comments and said had religious profiling happened in this country Emraan Hashmi would not have been a star. He added that the testament to the secular nature of this country is the stardom that he, Shahrukh and Aamir have achieved. He said that such an incident could have happened due to Emraan’s individual character rather than his religious beliefs. Salman however appealed to the housing society to give and NOC to Emraan.

Shahrukh brushed aside the issue stating that such incidents should not be given importance. He said that in the past 44 years he had never felt discriminated in his life. Shahrukh also said that it was an one-off incident and should not be seen with communal eyes. Shahrukh added that India was growing because people had overcome the barriers of religion, castes, class in their hearts and minds.

While everybody who has watched Love Aaj Kal is raving about the innocent Punjabi girl Harleen who in real life is a Brazilian model named Giselle Monteiro who couldn’t even speak Hindi.

Director Imtiaz Ali says, “She is actually a Brazilian girl named Giselle Monteiro. Why a Brazilian girl to play an old-fashioned Punjabi girl? Well, I was auditioning girls from all over the country to play the Punjabi girl opposite the Sikh Saif. I couldn’t find the right girl to play the 1965 ki ‘gali mein rehne wali ladki, purane zamane ki’.”

“Giselle came to me through dress designer Anaita Shroff. She was to play Jo, Saif’s Caucasian girlfriend in the second half. She wasn’t right for Jo.I turned and looked at Giselle and realised she is Brazil’s Harleen.”

However Giselle completely had no idea about Bollywood dancing, Ali says, “We wanted to put her through the paces with Sarojji (choreographer Saroj Khan), but it never happened. Sarojji didn’t have the time. For a foreigner to get the Indian ‘adaa’ right is very tough.”
