Everyone is wondering why Ram Gopal Varma suddenly decided to move forward his Rakhth Charitra (RC) sequel from November 19 to December 3 after making a noise about taking on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish.
The official explanation is,RC2 was not ready on time. That according to a source is, pure hogwash.
The real reason why Ramu, the master of marketing manipulations has chosen December 3 is so that he could pitch his Vivek Oberoi starrer against Abhishek Bachchan’s prestigious historical release Khelen Hum Jee Jaan Se.
Says the well-informed source, "Ramu likes to create an extra buzz around his films. When Phoonk 2 was released with Chance Pe Dance Ramu tried to pitch the crow in his horror film against Shahid.Abhishek and Vivek are seen to be at loggerheards . Ramu intends to play up their rivalry. Although both actors have worked repeatedly with Ramu the filmmaker is not averse to deliberately pitching them against one another."
Ramu feigns ignorance about his marketing manoeouvre. "The reason Rakht Charitra 2 was delayed is because the post-production took longer than we thought it would. I didn’t even know our film was coming on the same day as Abhishek’s.Not just that, both are based on true stories. Vivek and Abhishek play real- life characters in the two films.Having said that, let me also add that a lot of our marketing focus for RC2 would be on the Tamil superstar Suriya whom I regard as next only Rajinikanth in popularity. Since he’s making his Hindi debut we’re trying to figure out ways to bring him in front of the Hindi audiences."
This, according to the source,is exactly why Ramu has chosen to peg his sequel on the old Abhishek-Vivek rivalry. Says the source, "After the rejection of Rakht Charitra in the Northern belt Ramu can’t take a risk with the sequel .Suriya may be a superstar in the South. In Hindi even Rajnikanth doesn’t have a market.RC2 has no songs and items to promote. At most Suriya can do some interviews before its release. He can’t create an excitement around the film."

In an interview, Ravi disclosed that during the shooting of ‘Raavan’, he was almost attacked by a poisonous snake in the jungle and was saved by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan.
"I used to lie down either on the river bank or in the bushes between shots to take some rest. I was lying on a rock when I heard them screaming, ‘Get up or you will die’. I got up and saw that a nine-foot-long poisonous snake was approaching me," said Ravi.
"If you are seeing Ravi Kishan alive in front of you, it is just because of this wonderful couple," added the actor who is playing Abhishek’s elder brother in the film.
’Raavan’ is a bilingual film co-produced by Reliance BIG Pictures and Madras Talkies. In the film, Abhishek plays a local gunda Beera, who kidnaps Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, playing police inspector Vikram’s wife.

For Abhishek Bachchan, constant comparisons with dad Amitabh are an "honour" and not a problem. But as he gears up for his television debut with game show National Bingo Night, he says he is not competing in any way with Bachchan senior, who hosted the popular Kaun Banega Crorepati TV show in 2000.
"If you are not going to compare me to him (Amitabh), whom are you going to compare me to? I have never had a problem being compared to him and, like I said, who doesn’t want to be compared to Amitabh Bachchan? He is the best we have and the best that we ever will have. It’s a matter of great honour for me," said Abhishek.
The 33-year-old has faced comparisons with his father ever since his Bollywood debut with Refugee a decade ago. Now he says he doesn’t want to be weighed on the same scale.
"He (Amitabh) has been on TV and he created history on the medium. Do I hope to be able to outdo that? No, because that’s not possible. Nobody is going to be a better actor than him, nobody is going to be able to make a bigger mark than him on Indian cinema and on world cinema and the same goes for TV. Do I have aspirations of outdoing him? No, I don’t compete with my father," he said.

Vidya Balan, who plays Amitabh Bachchan’s mother in “Paa”, was so impressed by Abhishek’s caring behaviour towards his father during the shooting that she confesses she would like to have a son like Abhishek in real life.
“I would prefer a son like Abhishek. I have seen him with his father on the sets… he was so nice to his father that I was touched,” Vidya told reporters here Saturday.
Director R. Balakrishnan’s “Paa” is an emotional story of a father-son relationship and Amitabh will be seen as Abhishek’s 13-year-old son Auro who is suffering from a rare disease progeria, that accelerates ageing. The film releases Dec 4.
“The film is all about Auro and all through the film there is a certain sensibility about Auro, but no sympathy is shown towards the 13-year-old progeric child in the film,” said Vidya.
When the director approached her for the role, she wasn’t sure about playing the mother of a progeric child. “Initially, I wondered how to do the role as I didn’t have that motherly instinct. But while working on the film I realised what motherhood is,” said Vidya.

Well that’s what Amitabh’s onscreen father,Abhishek in Paa has to say about his 13-year-old kid.
Abhishek says, “Amitabh was a very troublesome child all through the film.”
There’s also a scene in the movie where Abhishek gives a piggyback ride to Big B.
Director Balki says, “Abhishek did it in one take. He carried his father effortlessly across the vast field. We shot the sequence near Cambridge in England at a place called Bury St Edmunds.”
Big B also talks about the piggyback scene, he says, “Carrying me piggyback was Abhishek’s job. Jaya and I merely produced a strong boy! No, the most tedious part of playing the 12-year-old boy in Paa was the makeup. I had to sit still for 4-5 hours every morning without moving, eating or even drinking water. For a sunrise shot I had to be up from 11 am the previous night doing the makeup to be able to shoot on time the next morning.”
Paa will be hitting the theaters on 13th November. What is your verdict folks? Paa will be a hit or miss?
