Irrfan Khan and Tabu would be seen together in internationally acclaimed filmmaker Ang Lee’s ambitious project Life Of Pi. However, what is surprising or rather shocking is the fact that Tabu would be playing the role of Irrfan’s mother in the film.
Life of Pi is the story of self-discovery of Piscine Molitor ‘Pi’ Patel and is based on the Booker Prize winning novel of the same name. While 17 year old Delhi boy Suraj Sharma would be playing the role of the young Pi, Irrfan Khan would be seen playing the adult Pi.
It may be recalled that Irrfan and Tabu were cast as husband-wife in Mira Nair’s The Namesake, a film which won international appreciation. It would now be interesting to see how the audience takes to Tabu playing Irrfan’s mother in Life Of Pi.

Irfan Pathan and Shilpa Shetty; are the next guest on the show Dus Ka Dum. It was an interesting episode altogether as both of them talked about their personal lives, with Salman.

In this conversation Irfan revealed about his love life too. “Sallu directly told Irfan that you are having an affair. Irfan immediately accepted and said yes, there is someone and her name is Shubhangi,” says the source.

“Irfan also sang the song, he serenaded for his girlfriend. It was from Sallu miya’s film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Oh oh jane jaana, both Salman and Irfan, then broke into an impromptu song-and-dance with Shilpa joining the fun,” adds the source.

“Irfan seemed to be too happy to talk about his love life but still he did not reveal much. His girlfriend is a charted accountant in an accounts firm in Australia, and they are planning to get married soon,” concludes our khabroo from the sets.

Well even our sizzling hot beauty Shilpa is planning to jump the eligible singles ship and join the bandwagon of hot married babes. By the looks of it, high-fashion glamour marriage season is soon to come in full swing. Better start early with shaddi shopping!

In LA for the Oscars Irrfan Khan met up with Julia Roberts for what turned out to be a memorable rendezvous.

“On the day after the Oscars ceremony we were doing a photo-feature for a magazine when I was told Julia Roberts was closeby, and would I like to meet her? I said she didn’t know me. But I was told she did know my work. I ran to meet her. It turned out, Julia had seen The Namesake very recently. She was doing a photo-session when we met up. She was sooooo sooooo genuinely pleased to meet me. She told me it was an honour to meet me. ‘What a beautiful film you’ve given us,’ she said. I swooned.”

Irrfan was bowled over by Julia Robert’s gracious compliments. “Such a big star and so little vanity. She not only had wonderful things to say about my film, she also lavished praise on India. ‘My kids and I love your country,’ she said. They were in India and plan to return again.”

Irrfan had to pinch and slap himself after the memorable meeting. “She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. She looked so lovely in her jeans and a short jacket.She was as cheerful and warm and full of compassion as she appears on screen. But I could have killed myself for not carrying Dvd’s of my other films, so I could give them to Julia. I’m so badly organized.”

Another dream came true for Irrfan when he met the amazing method -actor John Malkovich. “He was at an Oscars event and said he was attending a party after 15 years. He stays in Paris and was visiting LA. I’d like to believe he came to meet me. I wanted to meet him for long. I had a very long conversation with him. I also met director Oliver Stone, whom I was waiting to meet.
