Veteran singer, Nitin Mukesh who turned 60 on Sunday got his life’s most cherished gift from son, Neil Nitin Mukesh
A Mercedes of the new CGI series.
The Mercedes is a car that the senior Mukesh wanted to own all his life.
Says Neil excitedly, “You had to see his expression when I took him by the hand, blindfolded to the garage where the car was parked and showed him his dream car. He jumped up and down and squealed like a child. He then ran to his best friend’s apartment and got him down to see the car. The two of them were like a couple of excited school kids on their first outing to Disneyland. It was full paisa –vasool for me.”
For Neil this was the proudest moment of his career as an actor so far. “If I’m earning a certain amount of money my biggest wish is to make my family happy with what money can buy. I planned to buy the Merc for dad for over a year so that I can give it on his 60 th birthday.”
For Nitin Mukesh the Mercedes still remains the ultimate luxury car.
Chuckles Neil, “When I bought myself the Audi Q7 last year Dad was like… ‘Ok, but the Merc’s the car for me.’ I then decided what his gift would be on the 60th birthday.”
On Sunday, the entire family drove in the golden Mercedes to Amby Valley for celebrating Papa Nitin Mukesh birthday.

After Shilpa Shetty’s wedding, it’s the time for Bollywood to gear up for another big marriage celebration! Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is all set to tie the knot with his girlfriend, Priyanka Bhatia who is a Mumbai-based fashion designer, in 2010. Neil, who has had a long-standing relationship with Priyanka, has now confirmed that he is engaged to his girl, and plans to marry her by the end of next year.
"I love Priyanka. She’s the best thing to have happened to me,” Neil said.
Talking to a news daily, a source close to Neil said, “Neil and Priyanka hope to tie the knot next year. He is very possessive about Priyanka, and has kept her identity under wraps so far, to avoid undue attention. However, some people saw that as a sign of him being ashamed at admitting his relationship. That is why he has decided to come out with it. Priyanka even accompanied him to the premiere of ‘Jail’ but at that time no one knew about her, so she wasn’t photographed.”

Their grandfathers were best friends, their fathers enjoy great camaraderie and Neil Nitin Mukesh says he and Ranbir Kapoor are pals too. But he also admits that there is healthy rivalry between them.
“Ranbir and I are of course competitors. But there’s no negative rivalry between us. Our respective fathers (Nitin Mukesh and Rishi Kapoor) would kill us if we behaved like two brats fighting for the same roles,” Neil told IANS.
“I’m proud that Ranbir’s and my grandfather (Raj Kapoor and Mukesh) were very close friends. My father and Ranbir’s father adore each other. Ranbir is like my younger brother,” he added
Neil’s “Jail” and Ranbir’s “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” releases on the same day.
“I’d want Ranbir’s film to do as well as mine,” Neil says. “Fortunately, ‘Jail’ and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ look like north and south poles.”

“There’s a shopping arcade at Tihar where everything under the sun made by the prisoners is branded TJ (Tihar Jail) and sold. I was told the revenues from these handmade Tihar goods comes to Rs.7.5 crore every year. I bought a kambal (blanket), shawl, kurta, sweets and other edibles,” Neil told IANS.
“Do you know they have 10-day meditation courses in there, a full Vipassana where the yoga guru comes and stays inside the prison?”
Neil spent Monday afternoon in what is described as Asia’s largest prison as part of the campaign to make his film “Jail” connected to a larger reality about the life of prisoners.

If you’ve seen Neil Nitin Mukesh driving himself around instead of a chauffeur, that’s because he is practising driving his luxurious SUV, the high-end Audi Q7, smoothly. The Audi, a lava-grey colour, is an S-line sports model.
But it’ll take some time before Neil Mukesh gets to drive the car. Even though he has paid for the car and it is officially his, it is still decorating the display of the showroom. Actor Neil Mukesh explains, “The front of our building is under renovation and there’s hardly any space to park the new car. I’d rather be impatient and fret about it than deal with the trauma of the Audi getting scratched and bearing marks.”
Neil’s father, singer Nitin Mukesh, always dreamt of owning a super-luxury car. So now that the movie New York has clicked at the boxoffice, Neil Mukesh has decided that he can flaunt his success a bit without being labeled a spoilt south Mumbai brat. An emotional Neil Mukesh recalls, “I still remember the first car, a Maruti Zen, that my dad gifted me. Now it’s my turn to fulfill his dream. I could’ve afforded an Audi earlier, but it is only now that I truly deserve it.”
When Neil Mukesh will finally get to drive his Audi depends entirely on how quickly the renovation work in his building winds up. Meanwhile, a possessed Neil Mukesh goes to the showroom everyday to gaze at his prized possession. And as if to compensate for the wait, Neil’s other dreams are coming true too. His Abbas Mustan film, which was shelved due to recession, has been revived. Also, he’s finally doing a love story. Neil says, “It’s a Ken Ghosh film and finally, I’m doing the kind of film that debutants dream of at the beginning of their career.”

Neil Nitin Mukesh is the fairest of them all and his fairness lead to him being detained at the US airport recently.
Reason, the US airport folks refused to believe that he was an Indian national ‘coz he is too fair.
Neil says, “The officer who detained me said I didn’t look Indian. According to him, I was too fair to be an Indian! I told him to check my passport, but he just wouldn’t listen. I finally asked him to do a net search on my name. Even after that, his ego didn’t allow me to go. So, he kept me for a bit longer and then let me go.”

You never know what all some actors have to undergo to make the reel look real. Today’s actors give more priority to the real look rather than banking on make-up or camera tricks. They grow their hair (or beard), put on excess weight for a role, get into six packs, or totally slim down as per the on-screen demand of the character they portray in their films.
One more star to join this real-look wagon is Neil Nithin Mukesh. Neil is shooting for a Madhur Bhandarkar film titled ‘Jail’. As the name suggests the lead character Neil is pictured behind bars in some scenes. Now for getting a real look of a prisoner the actor is reported to have sacrificed hitting the bathroom for five days straight!
The shooting for the film is going on in Karjat. Sources close to the director reveal that the maker has erected a set that looks as close to being a jail. The inside of the set too is hot and humid. For a particular scene the hero is supposed to be in the same clothes with an unshaven look with dust and grit allover his body. It is for this scene that Neil has opted to shun away from bathing.
Reports from the director’s close aides reveal that though Neil was not forced to do anything he himself willingly went ahead a decided to give a real look to the character he was portraying by staying from the bathroom for five days in a row.
It looks like Neil must have emptied many bottles of deodorants while trying to give a natural look to his character. But kudos to you Neil for going the extra mile!

Neil Nitin Mukesh is in the news for various reasons these days. Be it his latest film ADZ or he going nude for his character in Madhur Bhandarkar’s JAIL. Now the latest is that an Italian company, Morellato Watches, a Life Style brand, have come down to India and they have roped in Neil Nitin Mukesh to endorse the brand, the reason they roped him is because Neil has got the looks of an international star & with his stubble’s he looks rugged.
The brand was particularly looking for the tough look & that’s the reason they did not settle with any chocolate looking Bollywood star as they wanted to maintain the brand image in an international market also. Since the brand has a strong presence in international market they wanted a star who would be young & would look like an Italian or a Mexican and who other then Neil could be better.
