Actor Shiney Ahuja, who was on Thursday granted bail by the Bombay High Court in a rape case, was released on Saturday from the Arthur Road Jail where he spent 110 days.

Shiney’s lawyer Shirish Gupte told IANS Saturday evening that he was not aware when Shiney would be leaving for Delhi as stipulated by the high court while granting him  bail on a surety of Rs 50,000 with several conditions.

Justice AP Deshpande had imposed strict conditions on the actor, ordering him to live in New Delhi till the trial begins in a fast-track court in Mumbai.

He was also ordered to deposit the bail amount of Rs 50,000, visit a police station in the national capital, deposit his passport with police and refrain from influencing the case witnesses, Gupte said.

Shiney has been accused of raping his teenaged domestic help at his Andheri (West) home June 14 and was in custody since then.

On two occassions, lower courts in Mumbai had rejected Shiney’s bail application and he had been lodged in the Arthur Rod Jail where Pakistani terror accused Mohammed Ajmal Amir alias Kasab is also lodged.

Following an assurance by Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Shiney’s case was transferred from a sessions court to a fast-track court in Sewri where the trial is due to start soon.

If the charges against him are proved in court, Shiney faces a minimum seven-year jail sentence. His wife Anupam and his lawyer have maintained that he is innocent and is being framed.

Mumbai court Friday rejected the bail application of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, accused of raping his teenaged domestic help.

The actor’s bail plea, which was pending before a Mumbai sessions court, had been transferred to a fast track court last month, said his lawyer Shrikant Shivade.

Shiney has been accused of raping his domestic help at his Andheri West home June 14.

The charges against the actor will be framed Sep 23 before fast track court judge S.R. Trivedi, Shivade told IANS.

Mumbai Police on Thursday filed a charge sheet against Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja in a city court, accusing him of rape and wrongful confinement of his domestic help.

The 109-page charge sheet contains medical and forensic evidences, reports and witness statements, an official told IANS on condition of anonymity.

The 36-year-old actor was arrested on June 15 after his teenaged domestic help accused him of raping her.

She told police that the actor called her into his room saying that he needed water and then locked her in and raped her.

The actor will now continue to be in judicial custody till August 13 and is currently in the Arthur Road jail.

A Mumbai court had earlier rejected a bail application filed by Ahuja.

Actor Shiney Ahuja’s judicial custody has been extended till 13 August. The actor was arrested on 15 June for allegedly raping his domestic maid.

Ahuja was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate via video conferencing from Arthur Road Jail, where he is currently being kept.

The DNA test report of Ahuja had confirmed that he sexually assaulted the victim. He has been charged under the Indian Penal Code Section 376 with rape, along with wrongful restraint and intimidation.

Actor Shiney Ahuja, who was produced before a court on Thursday for allegedly raping his domestic help, said he was not in good health.

"I am not well but even then I came to the court," Ahuja said when asked by the court if he had anything to say.

The actor, who was dressed in a blue t-shirt and jeans, was silent through the hearing at a magistrate’s court in suburban Andheri.

He was remanded to judicial custody by the court till July 16.

Shiney’s wife Anupam was not present in the court, his father was there. He, however, refused to speak to the media persons.

  The DNA report of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, arrested for alleged rape of his domestic maid, on Monday has confirmed that the victim had been raped, police said.

"The DNA report has confirmed rape of the victim," said Additional Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.

"The report has corroborated the allegations in the FIR that the actor had raped his domestic help," Gupta added.

The blood and urine samples also suggested that the actor was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he allegedly committed the crime.

The actor is lodged in Arthur Road jail after a court remanded him to judicial custody for raping the 20-year-old maid at his residence on June 14. He was arrested the next day.

The medical examination of the victim, who hails from Roha in Raigad district, had shown injuries on her private parts.

The medical report of Bollywood Actor Shiney Ahuja had also shown an abrasion on his hand. The victim is just 38 kg while Ahuja is 76 kg. Since Ahuja is double the weight of the victim, he might have easily overpowered and raped her, a police official said.

Also, nail samples of the victim have been sent for forensic tests to gather corroborative evidence in the case, police said adding that the report is still awaited.

The medical examination of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, who has been arrested for the alleged rape of his maid, have suggested that he was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Talking to reporters, Assistant Police Commissioner Dilip Suryawanshi said, “The blood and urine samples have shown that the actor was neither under the influence of alcohol nor drugs. He was in his complete sense when he allegedly raped the maid.”
The blood and urine samples of the actor were sent to the Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory for tests.
Earlier, medical reports of the actor had not shown any significant injury on his body apart of an abrasion on his right hand
Ahuja, who is in judicial custody till July 2, was arrested on June 15, after preliminary medical tests on the girl confirmed sexual assault.
A forensic team visited the actor’s house in suburban Oshiwara, where the alleged offence was committed, to try and obtain more evidence from the spot. The house was sealed by the police later.

’Accident’ will be directed by ad filmmaker Abhijeet Chaudhuri, the man behind big ads like Bata, Coca-Cola and Castrol. Nandy preferred to keep the film under wrap in the wake of financial crisis and secondly due to its plotline. It is a thriller and Nandy fears that if any of the scene or dialogue of the film is captured by someone, the curiosity will dry up.
Soha and Shiney’s last film did not get good response at the box-office but received critical appreciation.
