Vivek Oberoi who has over the years acquired the reputation of being quite a ladies man has finally decided to tie the knot. Yes, the self-proclaimed flirt is getting married. The wedding, according to very reliable sources, is on October 29, two months after Vivek’s 34th birthday.
The details about the bride are not yet known. But it is an arranged marriage for Bollywood’s resident Casanova who, in his words, likes to flirt with anyone in a skirt. Vivek’s bride-to-be has been chosen by his parents Suresh and Yashodhara.
In the past Vivek has dated some of the most beautiful women in the entertainment industry including Aishwarya Rai. Before that Vivek dated model Gurpreet Gill for four years before abruptly calling off the relationship.
Since then the Oberoi scion has been linked with various girls.
The most recent link-up was with his Prince co-star Neeru Bajwa.
When asked about Neeru Vivek had said, "That’s all rubbish. I’ve been linked up with 50 girls in last four years. At least 10 of them I’ve never met. No wonder my mother is searching for a girl for me. She wants me to settle down".
On Saturday when asked about the wedding Vivek hastily begged off saying he was busy and would talk `later’.

After remaining single for four years, Vivek Oberoi is ready to settle down. The actor, who has also turned into a poet, says he wouldn’t mind marrying a girl of his parents’ choice.
“My mom specially is very worried. Like any mother she wants me to settle down. I don’t mind an arranged marriage. The girl my parents choose could be the girl of my dreams,” Vivek, who recently featured in “Kurbaan” as a journalist, told IANS.
“I know there’s someone out there for me. I just have to find her. I don’t know how it would happen. But with all her imperfections and mine, she’d be perfect for me. At the moment I’m very much single. I’ve been single for four years.
“I’m a normal guy. I do go out on dates. I enjoy women’s company. But nothing serious. I’m extremely conservative about women. I cannot have a time pass attitude towards me,” said the 33-year-old.
Vivek laughs off the rumours linking him with Niroo Singh, one of the actresses from his forthcoming release “Prince – It’s Showtime”.

Vivek Oberoi will be one more in a long list of celebs giving an international awards event a miss. A source close to Vivek explains why he is not heading to the event, "The organisers really wanted him to attend the awards function this year and perform but he chose his friends’ wedding. Vivek leaves for Istanbul tomorrow for close friends Kurt and Ceyda’s wedding. He has been friends with the couple for years; since his New York days."
Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi ran into trouble with some policemen while shooting for Rensil D’Silva’s film Qurbaan in New York. Both the actors were almost arrested while shooting for the film.
A source said, "Vivek and Saif were shooting in a hilly region in New York. It was a scene where both the actors had to drive a car and the camera was placed quite far as it was a long shot. The actors kept driving for a long time as they were required to give various takes as the scene was being shot from several angles. However, the locals, who had no clue that a film shoot was on, started getting suspicious when they saw the two Indians driving around aimlessly. They wasted no time in calling the cops who immediately came and started questioning Vivek and Saif."
Vivek and Saif told the policemen they were actors from India and were shooting for a film. However, the cops refused to believe them. Much to the frustration of the two actors, the cops flatly refused to believe that a shooting was on as there was no crew member or camera nearby.
"Even though the production team saw what was happening on their monitors, and one of them immediately rushed to help, it took him a good 10 minutes before he could reach the actors. By then the cops had almost arrested them on suspicion and were all set to take them to the police station. However, the unit member rescued the actors in the nick of time. The cops only let them go after all the necessary documents were shown," added the source.
Vivek Oberoi, whose name is now being linked to sitar player Anoushka Shankar, says good friend Kareena Kapoor pesters him most to find a suitable match for himself and settle down soon.
"The pressure (of getting married) is on, not only from my family but from even Bebo (Kareena’s pet name)," said Vivek, who will be seen with Kareena and Saif in Rensil D’Silva’s untitled film.
"Every time we go out for dinner, she would shake her head and tell me – ‘find a nice girl and settle down’ and I would hide behind Saif to dodge the bullet. We had some great laughs," he said.
Vivek’s personal life has always been in the spotlight – from the time his engagement to long-standing girlfriend Gurpreet Gill broke off to the short but much-hyped relationship with former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai. But now the actor is single.
He reasons his stag status by saying, "I’m single because I am waiting to find the girl who will make me want to never be single again."
His personal life apart, Vivek has his hands full with big banner movies like Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra, Prakash Jha’s Rajniti and Tips Films’ Prince besides Rensil D’Silva’s untitled romantic thriller.
So Vivek will be back with a bang after experiencing a series of ups and downs in his career.
Vivek is in no mood to assess his stint in Bollywood since his launch in Varma’s Company in 2002 as he says he is still raring to go. "When I retire, I will have enough time to sit back in a rocking chair and judge my career. Right now, it’s time for me to grab every opportunity and give it my very best," said Vivek, who was loved by audiences in films such as Saathiya and Yuva.
The actor also spoke about the only mistake he thinks he made during his seven-year-old career. "What went wrong in between was that I had forgotten why I came here…to be an actor…just that…not all the trappings of stardom but just the pure fire of burning desire to act," he said.
Now Vivek says he has set a goal for himself. "Every day, in every way, I want to be better and better…that is my mission and my prayer," he said.

Paritala Ravi’s life story happened to be the favorite subject to make a movie for Ram Gopal Varma who made box office wonders with films like ‘Company’ comprising mafia theme. For this he carried on ample research in Anantapur by meeting various people from Paritala’s family and also the opponent Maddelacheruvu Suri’s family.
He made a script that lasts for about 5 hrs on screen, if canned. Hence he divided the theme into two parts as Rakta Charitra-1 and Rakta Charitra-2. While the first part shows the rise of Paritala Ravi from forest to ballet, the second part deals with how he was trapped in the conspiracies of opponents.
Vivek Oberoi is finalized to play Paritala Ravi’s character and that is going to be made both in Hindi and Telugu with same title. We have to see who will play the roles of Maddelacheruvu Suri, assassin Moddu Seenu, Paritala Suneetha, Gangula Bhanumathi (wife of Suri) and Lakshmi Rajyam (wife of Moddu Seenu). All these roles play vital role in the entire script. In fact, the roles of former CM NTR, Chandrababu Naidu, YSR and YS Jagan may also be grooved in to narrate the story. Ram Gopal Varma who made the failure film Aag has now stirred entire Bollywood and Tollywood circuits with this fresh ‘Rakta Charitra’ announcement.
Being in the same industry, this had to happen. And to tell you the truth, I was waiting for it since the day Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi broke up. I mean these reunions are fun, right. If not for the two involved, at least for the onlookers.
My little birdie, who keeps twittering about all these goings-on in tinsel town told me all about the Ash-Vivek face off during the recent Filmfare awards.
Well, it so happened that though they obviously tried to avoid each other, Ash and Vivek were caught face-to-face while Vivek was giving bites to the media and posing for the cameras. Ash and hubby Abhi arrived right then.
But Bachchan bahu, being the diplomatic little thing she is, pretended that she hasn’t seen her ex lover at all. She in fact started chatting with her husband Abhishek. Theykept sitting inside their car till Vivek finished and then went inside.
Vivek Oberoi however noticed this entire thing and was rather pissed off. Though he went in just then, he left the venue soon after.
I know, I expected fireworks but then again, ‘pretending not to see’ and ‘rushing out of the venue’ is good enough dough for Juicy Mausi!
