According to the film’s official synopsis, Monkey Man follows a young man named Bobby who lives in a wilderness with his single mother, who tells him stories about the Hindu monkey deity Lord Hanuman as he grows up after a series of tragedies led by a faux spiritual guru, a corrupt politician, and greedy officer. A desire for vengeance drives Bobby, and he joins a criminal organization, earning money as a monkey-masked warrior. His childhood tragedy drives him to launch an aggressive campaign of retaliation against the ones who stole everything from him.

Why Is Monkey Man Delayed In India?

Industry observers predict the picture will gross between $12 and $15 million in its first weekend, so expectations are high.

The action-packed thriller, produced by Universal/Monkeypaw and directed by Patel, is set to impact 3,000 theaters worldwide.

The movie premiered globally on April 5, and India’s release date was April 19.

Previously, speculations stated that Monkey Man’s release was postponed due to a potential box office clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s next film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Ajay Devgn’s sports biography Maidaan. However, reports in a reputed portal reveal that the movie has not yet received its censor certificate from the Central Board of Fim Certification.

Because of the extreme violence and sexual scenes depicted in the movie, the movie’s certificate is delayed. The original team in the USA needs to agree to and implement the suggested changes. If reports are accurate, the movie will require heavy editing and significant chunks might need to be cut out if the board approves it.

When Will Monkey Man Release In India?

Given the nature of the film and the possible issues that might arise, the movie’s release in India needs to be confirmed. If the censorship procedure is finished on schedule, Monkey Man will be released in India on April 19. Otherwise, the picture will open a week later, on April 26.
