Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan are supposed to be cast together in a new movie even as the magic of the couple in Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj kal continues to enchant audiences. In Love Aajkal, the duo as a romantic couple had made a splash on the silver screen.

It is Vishal Bharadwaj who has plans to rope in both Deepika and Saif to play the lead roles in his next project. The director wants to recreate the onscreen magic that the couple is still remembered for.

A source close to the director reveals that Priyanka Chopra was supposed to be cast against Saif in the project. But the director’s plan has turned over. If the grapevine stories are to be believed, Priyanka has been a favorite of the director. For her outstanding performance in Kaminey and Saat Khoon Maaf, Vishal had signed her first. But the impression of Deepika’s performance in Love Aaj kal and Karthik Calling Karthik, is no less than the spell of Priyanka’s. Vishal has secretly approached Deepika and signed her to be heroine in his next celluloid venture. Chances are that the idea of casting them together once again will click with the audience.

Sonam Kapoor might have a sleek figure herself, but the actress wishes to have a body like Deepika Padukone’s.

‘Deepika has a great body and I wish I could have a body like her,’ Sonam told reporters here Monday at DT Cinemas in DLF Promenade in Vasant Kunj, where she was with her ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ co-star Imran Khan and director Punit Malhotra, to to promote her new film.

Sonam also dispelled rumours of any supposed cold war between her and Deepika, after she was linked with Deepika’s then boyfriend and actor Ranbir Kapoor during the shooting of ‘Saawariya’.

‘I don’t know Deepika. Then how would I have a cold war with her?’ she asked.

Sonam, also denied that she refused to work with Deepika in Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Desi Boys’, starring John Abraham and Akshay Kumar.

‘The role that Deepika is doing was offered to me before. I would have loved to do it but because I was busy with ‘Mausam’ and ‘Thank You’ I could not take it. It later went to Deepika and I am sure she will do a great job,’ she said.

Imran and Sonam were greeted with much fanfare at the mall. They joyfully interacted with their fans and they even shook a leg together at the title song of ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ for the audiences. The film is set for release July 2.

If all goes well, then Salman Khan may turn out to be the bodyguard of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone! Don’t get confused, he is very much into acting and it will be for the sake of a film only. There is a speculation that the Hindi remake of the South Indian director Siddique’s Malayalam film Bodyguard, will be cast will Deepika Padukone opposite the Wanted star Salman Khan.

The Malayalm version of the film was released in March. The leading South Indian director Siddique wrote and directed the film himself.

The story of the film deals with a young man, who gets attracted to people, with heroic qualities and follows them like a bodyguard. But, the interesting twist comes when he is hired to accompany a businessman’s gorgeous daughter to college as a real bodyguard.

In the Malayalam version of Bodyguard, South Indian actors Dileep and Nayantara were in the lead roles. Currently, the director is busy with the Tamil version of the film, which stars Asin and the South superstar Vijay.

Many other filmmakers approached Siddique but only Atul Agnihotri managed to get the rights for the Hindi version of the film. Siddique will take up the role of the director and writer in the Hindi version after completing the Tamil one.

Salman Khan has confirmed playing the lead role but Deepika is not sure yet. Atul informed that they were still working on the script. He added, “We are still completing other important tasks before we decide on signing the actors.”

Atul said that the shooting of the film will commence on December 6 in Ranikhet.

Deepika Padukone stole the limelight from the experienced Aishwarya Rai who made many a fashion blunder at the Film Festival.

Aishwarya Rai, who has been attending the French film festival since 2002 as the global face of L’Oreal, has been drawing criticism from designers for her wrong choice of outfits and was only appreciated last year when she wore a white off-shoulder Roberto Cavalli.

Mumbai, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is blessed with a good figure, says she does not believe in being size zero as the Indian body type is not meant for it.

“Correct me if I am wrong, but I personally feel that the Indian body type is not cut out to be size zero. I am not size zero and I don’t believe in that either,” Deepika told IANS.

“I believe that it’s nice to be little full and have a nice shape,” she added.

The Bollywood actress was the show stopper for designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil’s show at the Lakme Fashion Week here Sunday.

According to Deepika, an actress gets a role for her performance and not the body type.

“In the (film) industry, body size doesn’t matter. What matters is how much an actor contributes through his performance and not his body size,” explained Deepika.

“It is important that every person should wear clothes that go with their body – the cut, the fabric make a lot of difference,” she added.

Deepika Padukone doesn’t have any mega New Year celebrations plans this time around. She wants to spend some quiet and peaceful time. Not the ‘lonesome tonight’ kinda moment. Don’t worry… the gal might be hurting, but the Dee we know, is one helluva high-spirited gal. She wants to ring in the New Year, with her family and a few close friends.

Love stories rarely ever tread a smooth path and the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone relationship is no exception. The couple, who have been together for nearly two years, are currently going through what Ranbir describes as a “rough patch”.

Actress Deepika Padukone, who’s making news for her split with Ranbir Kapoor, is taking on more work to focus on her film career. Now, according to latest reports Deepika has signed a film opposite Imran Khan which will be produced by Kunal Kohli in association with Big Pictures.

The film will be directed by one of Kunal Kohli’s close associate and is expected to go on the floors by early next year. What is interesting is that despite the fact that Imran Khan is Ranbir’s best buddy, Deepika chose to do this film, making it clear that she does not wish to mix her personal and professional life.
With Deepika taking on more assignments by the day, looks like her professional life is becoming a new comfort zone for her.

Talking about his son Rishi proudly says, “He’s had only two releases, he has a long way to go yet. But what I’m happy about is that he’s very passionate about his work. You have to love what you do, and Ranbir is absolutely engrossed in what he does, passionate about his films, just like his grandfather and his father!”

On shifting the focus to Deepika relationship with Ranbir, Rishi says,“Absolutely normal, I think she’s one of Ranbir’s girlfriends, so what?”

The Deepika Padukone-Kareena Kapoor war has just intensified even more now. According to sources, the duo were both present at the premiere screening of Love Aaj Kal in Delhi with Saif Ali Khan. However, supposedly Padukone chose to stay clear of Kapoor and instead indulged in much chatter with beau Ranbir Kapoor’s father Rishi Kapoor, who also is a part of the film.
However, Deepika who flew out of Delhi to London for an event associated with the film was quick to clarify that nothing of the sort happened at the premiere, "We were all in Delhi together, all of us … Saif, Kareena, Imtiaz, Giselle Monteiro, Rishiji and me. And we had so much fun. I don’t know where these stories of friction come from." She additionally went on to add that although she and the Kapoor clan, i.e. Rishi and Neetu, do not get to mingle as much as they’d like to, the do share warm vibes with one another. "It’s sad I didn’t have too many scenes with Rishiji during the shooting of Love Aaj Kal," she went on to say. Furthermore, she claimed that this was the most time she has spent with Rishi Kapoor ever. But also said, "And we have absolutely no problems getting along. It makes exciting copy to say we don’t get along. But that’s not the truth."
