Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is kicked about performing with Shah Rukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor in Durban for celebrating the 150th year of India-South Africa friendship Saturday, and says she has a soft corner for the ‘friendly and inviting’ people of that country.
‘I was approached for this event when the idea was being discussed. I thought it was a wonderful way to celebrate the 150 years of friendship between India and South Africa. There is no better way than to celebrate it in true Bollywood style,’ said Priyanka.
The concert, which is being held to commemorate the arrival of the first Indian indentured labourers in 1860 to work on sugarcane plantations in South Africa, promises to be a glittering event with well-known names from the world of cricket and entertainment sharing a common platform.
The event, to be hosted by actor Anil Kapoor, is an initiative by AAMEDIA, a South African corporate, and Cricket South Africa. It is being directed and executed by Wizcraft International Entertainment and Cineyug Productions.
Priyanka, who has shot for her films Andaaz and Aitraaz in South Africa in the past, says she has a ‘surprise’ in store for her fans. She also revealed that she has an ‘interesting performance lined up’ on popular songs like Maa da laadla, Desi girl and Raat ke dhai baje.
The 28-year-old actor, who will be flying out to Durban from Mumbai Friday night, is especially upbeat about the event as she finds a lot of similarities between India and South Africa.
‘Given that there has been a 150-year association between the two countries, there are many similarities between the two. In many ways there is a certain familiarity every time I go there (South Africa). I have been to South Africa many times and enjoyed every trip,’ said Priyanka, who last visited the country in 2009 when she went to judge the Miss World pageant in Johannesburg.
The picturesque landscapes apart, Priyanka loves South Africa for its hospitality.
The basic plot of SRK’s ‘Ra.One’ has heavy influence of Rajnikanth’s ‘Robot’. Coincidence or a planned strategy – Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One seems to be hugely influenced by Rajnikanth’s ‘Robot’. The similarity between the two films goes beyond the resemblance in appearance of robots ‘Chetti’ and ‘G.One’. One look at the ‘Ra.One’ poster and you are instantly reminded of Rajnikanth’s ‘Robot’ but the latest is that just like Rajni, SRK too has a double role in this super hero flick. And hang on! The similarity goes a step further. Just like Rajni’s characters of a scientist and a robot, SRK too will play a scientist who creates robots ‘G.One’ and ‘Ra.One’. SRK plays the good robot ‘G.One’ while Arjun Rampal will be seen as the bad guy ‘Ra.One’. Not just this, ‘Ra.One’ is portrayed as a robot that behaves like humans which is again a character of Rajni’s ‘Chetti’.

Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan is the first Bollywood film to release in China in the last three decades. And the only reason why this happened is because of Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan’s immense popularity in that country. Everyone knows that despite the changing scenario in the home market, SRK continues to remain Bollywood’s biggest export. His draw in countries like UK, Germany, parts of Europe, China and the entire Far East is still bigger than that of any other Bollywood actor. MNIK also has successfully managed the deferred release experiment. Starting February 2010 to December 2010 this film has found markets for itself around the world, paving the way for others from Bollywood.

A snapshot of Shah Rukh Khan allegedly kissing a man is doing the rounds of social networking sites. King Khan is seen in a liplock with another man.
Speculation is that the photo is from the Jonathan Ross show (a British chat show) where the star featured as a guest a while back. The man kissing SRK in the picture was the second guest on the show — John Barrowman. SRK was at his wittiest best and performed many funny bits but this particular clip was not telecast. Is this actually SRK or someone’sphotoshop joke? only SRK has the answer!
With films becoming even more extravagant comprising of death defying stunts, all that’s left is for the stars themselves to do the stunts. This is exactly what the Baadshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan did as he took the plunge at 300 feet. After doing some dare devil stunts for sci-fi thriller Ra.One, the actor took a 300 feet plunge while shooting for Farhan Akhtar’sDon 2 in Berlin. Tweeting about the experience SRK says, "Just did an over 300 feet base jump for Don… because you all make me believe I can fly. Time to tell kids about the birds and the bees… ha ha". Further he adds, "My jump was last shot of day. Want to thank my duplicate and action team, to do it before me for wide shots and make me feel confident about it."

Ahead of the Ram Janmabhoomi- Babri Masjid verdict, a host of Bollywood celebrities have come together to appeal people to maintain peace and harmony and not be swayed by aggressive sentiments or elements if not happy with the verdict.
Superstar Shahrukh Khan too has stepped in by saying that God doesn’t reside in manmade monuments.
“Allah, God, Bhagwan in whichever name we pray to the supreme power, resides in man’s heart, not in man-made houses for Him,” SRK wrote on microblogging site Twitter.
The actor said any belief should first take root in the heart.
“I mean first our beliefs should take seed and grow in our hearts and then only we should manifest that in places of prayer and God,” the actor tweeted.
In the light of the Commonwealth Games he added that it’s easier to demolish than to build.
“I hope we Indians realise how difficult it is to build stadiums and respect and so easy to break monuments and disrespect each others’ beliefs,” he wrote.
The Ayodhya land dispute verdict was supposed to come out on September 24 but has been deferred with Supreme Court deciding to hear the plea for postponement on September 28.

Shah Rukh Khan clears all rumors about his fall out with director/choreographer, Farah Khan.
“No please, there is nothing wrong between me and Farah. You guys are making a dream within a dream like Inception. You dream of a story, then you ask a question within a dream and get an answer there and assume it is right. This is nothing of that sort. We are always friends in the film industry.”
” If I am working in a film I am always in touch with a particular actor or a director. If I am not working with them, I may not be in touch with them. But then I love Farah a lot and wish her film with Akshay Kumar does well. Akshay is also a good friend and I want his films to do well too,” says Khan putting an end to all speculations about the so called “war” between him and his close friend who had once sworn not to make a film ever without him.
