The distant dream of seeing the two reigning superstars of Bollywood (for almost two decades now), Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan together on-screen may soon get accomplished. As our prolific and visionary filmmaker, Karan Johar has expressed the desire to the cast the duo in his film (in near future).
Lately at the music launch of Aamir Khan’s much touted film PEEPLI [LIVE], KJo, who was there to grace the event, revealed, "Aamir Khan is a very good actor. I would love to do a film with Shahrukh Khan and him."
Aamir Khan was also positive on doing a film with Karan Johar.
"Why not? I think Karan is a very talented director. I would love to work with him. If there is a good story for me and if Karan also feels that I fit the role, I will do it," said the perfectionist.
It can be recalled that the Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan have come together on screen only once in Ashutosh Gowariker’s directorial debut, PEHLA NASHA. But those were merely cameos.
Now that it comes from someone like Karan Johar, you can bet that they aren’t just words and the project will materialize. Let’s hope that it happens soon.
Karan: I Was Fed up With Bollywood
Posted by Admin | Under Karan Johar Monday Feb 15, 2010My Name is Khan producer and director Karan Johar, whose film is being lauded by audiences and critics, says he was fed up with the typical Bollywood stuff.
"I was fed up with Bollywood, its item numbers, big sets – it was all too easy and getting repetitive for me. I wanted a challenge.
"I’m not tearing the envelope with this film, but just pushing it. The music is ethnic, commercial, all heart," he said at the red carpet premiere of the film at the Berlin International Film Festival Friday.
An emotional Johar thanked the people of Germany for making them feel at home. "We were anxious being in Berlin when we were releasing (the film) in Mumbai, but thank you so much for making us feel at home here.
"It is such an honour to be at Berlin, thanks to festival director Dieter Kosslick and India programmer Dorothee Wenner, and our distributor Fox. We love Germany. We get such unconditional love only from our mothers and our fans in Germany," he said.
Karan Johar And David Dhawan Clash Again
Posted by Admin | Under David Dhawan, Karan Johar Tuesday Sep 29, 2009David Dhawan’s Do Knot Disturb looks all set to go against Karan Johar’s Wake Up Sid
Way back in 1998, Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Haiclashed with David Dhawan’s much-hyped Bade Miyan Chote Miyan – both released on the same day. Now a little more than a decade later, history is repeating itself with Wake Up Sid coming face to face with Do Knot Disturb on October 2.
And Vashu Bhagnani, who has produced both Do Knot Disturb and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, is surprisingly happy that his film is hitting theatres on the same day as Karan Johar’s production.
"I am really very pleased that both our films are releasing on the same day," Bhagnani said.
Doesn’t he feel that two much-hyped films should not clash with each other?
"I am someone who believes a lot in coincidences. When Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai were released on the same day, there were murmurs even then around which film would eventually succeed. We all know that both the films not just survived each other at the box office but also registered huge numbers. They both met with blockbuster success," he said.
"Isn’t that a coincidence that earlier our film was supposed to release on September 25, but then it got postponed by a week to come along withWake Up Sid? Such things just happen and I like to call them happy coincidences," the producer said.
While Do Knot Disturb is directed by Dhawan and stars Govinda, Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta and Riteish Deshmukh, Wake Up Sid is Ayan Mukherjee’s directorial debut with Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma.
Karan Feels Terrible On SRK Detaining

Karan Johar Signs Katrina Kaif For Dostana 2
Posted by Admin | Under Karan Johar Monday Aug 10, 2009Katrina Kaif’s performance in Yash Raj Films’ recent hit New York has not only left her critics impressed but director Karan Johar too. It is learnt from reliable sources that pretty actress has finally been roped in to play the lead for his next Dostana 2.
Sources inform, “Katrina has widened her experiences as an actress in a short span of time. On one hand she had a typical potboiler like Singh is King to her credit but then proved her critics wrong with a terrific performance like New York.”
“Yet again she is all out to woo the audience with her romantic image in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani with Ranbir but on the flip side she has a hardcore non glamorous look in a movie like Rajniti. Katrina has found an act of balance where her talent as an actress is concerned” adds our source.
Our source informs “Perhaps this is what that has impressed producer Karan Johar who has roped Katrina for Dostana 2. Karan initially had planned to to retain the same cast as Dostana. But Katrina’s performance in New York has left Karan highly impressed and after the survery where she was rated the sexiest Bollywood actress Karan confirmed his plans to have her on board.”
Karan has heard a lot of positive nature of the actress but for Katrina now it is a privilege to be a part of Dharma Productions,” said a friend close to actress.
Karan Mobbed by Coffee Lovers
Posted by Admin | Under Karan Johar Wednesday Jul 8, 2009As the director-producer-host Karan Johar is in USA shooting for his next venture My Name Is Khan with the hit Bollywood pair Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, he gets a pleasant surprise every other evening. When he is done with the day’s shoot and plans for a walk, his avid fans of his TV chat show Koffee With Karan surrounds him and ask for autograph and photo with him. It’s not only that but the funniest part is that each one of them requests him – ‘May we have coffee with you?’
But, Karan refuses all the invitations, because you know one can’t digest too much coffee.
